[So Clara isn't really one for posting on networks, but she figures with the temperature going completely mad, she ought to at least try to get something done about it instead of sitting around and sulking. Sulking and shivering as she's doing currently in her room.

She flips the device to video, still shivering, and clears her throat before before speaking.]

So, judging by the rest of the posts, I'm not the only one who's room has suddenly turned into an ice box. And considering sleeping in the halls would be ridiculous and supposedly dangerous, I've got to ask if anyone has a coat they might lend me? Or if you're a polar bear, maybe we could switch rooms until the temperature starts going bonkers.

[She raises her eyebrows as if hopefully staring at whomever might watch her post. Then she grows more serious, thoughtful, as she carefully words the next question.]

And getting a bit more personal. Really personal. Has anyone else... been here before and yet completely forgotten that you were? Because I've been here before and so has my friend, the Doctor. But he's gone and I don't remember a thing.

[She frowns.] So if you knew me before, we should get acquainted again. Especially if I need to use the "buddy system" to go about the ship as it does require buddies.

[Alex knows this post is a shot in the dark. Stupid, even, but he was tired of having things in his head that didn't belong to him.

Especially when they read as things that were supposed to warn them, of things, but gave no real solid knowledge.

The burning of the genetics lab.

The dreams of the elves.

The dream of the prisoner, and his own--of a girl fighting back against someone who was familiar and yet not, who had eaten the other crewmembers.

And the message that Carolyn had shown him.

Maybe he was paranoid; maybe he was stupid.

But this was either just an echo of the past, or a warning that history was going to repeat itself.

From who--who the fuck knew.]

Uh--Ward, you care to pipe up here?

You can't tell me that you don't know anything about this. Or that you aren't listening to what is going on, and don't have an opinion on it.

[There is a pause, and then--well.

Might as well just be an idiot.]

You too, Smiley.

Did you help the other crew too, occasionally, then unleash this on them? Is this your last little game? How many crews were there before us?

I mean you've saved us, before. Why keep so damn quiet, now?

Just saying, if there is some sort of countdown clock to insane cannibal doppelgangers, I'd like to know what time it's showing.

[ Once again, Carolyn is in front of the only known windows on the ship, aka the ones in the shuttle bay. Once again, she gets a good shot of all the stars and general blackness before turning the camera to her face. And once again, Carolyn looks downright exhausted. ]

You're in space. If you're new to the Tranquility, my name is Carolyn Fry. I work down in the shuttle bay and if you're interested in helping out down here [ and judging by the tone of her voice, you should be ] come talk to me. No previous experience necessary, though if you're going to be an idiot, you're not allowed. No trying to hijack one either; [ Mass Effect cast ] there's not enough fuel to get back to wherever you came from [ which probably isn't even in this universe, morons ] and Casey has no problems breaking your neck.

[ Shortest flight crew ad ever, for real. ]

If you're new to the Tranquility or space travel, I hold classes. The previous lessons have been recorded so that you can watch them. If anyone has any questions or suggestions for future classes, I'm all ears.

[ Look! A handy link! ]

As I'm sure you've all noticed, the memories from the previous jump have decided to change. Judging by what I saw, they're from the previous crew. [ A pause. ] If anyone's face doesn't look... right, like it has oil underneath it, it might be a good idea to secure them before they apparently try to eat you or rip you apart with their talon-hands. And if anyone has hallucinations, it's probably not a good idea to go dropping your weapon and following them. If we're lucky, these memories will stay memories, but I don't recall our luck here ever being anything but bad.

[ There's a pause and Carolyn rubs her face. Suddenly, this post takes a turn for the awkward. ]

Also, someone left some tools outside of my door? Uh, thanks. I think.

[Taylor's walking while she talks, which means voice might have been a better choice for getting this message out without the jerk and bump of the current camera work, but she hadn't stopped to think about it past hitting a button. She's got more important things on her mind right now, like the space station they're apparently now docked to.]

Not gonna tell any of you not to go over there. [It'd fall on deaf ears, plus-] If they've got supplies, we need them. But you stay sharp, go armed if you can, don't go alone. Like Fry said, we do not need a repeat of Strela.

[Though she is really hoping the brainwashing thing was a one time deal.]

SEC, I'm heading out and I want half of you with me. Half stay. Don't trust this place not to try pulling some fucked up while we're looking the other way.

[Always ending her posts on the most cheerful note.]

[ The flight crew is noisier than usual, a buzz of activity and excitement that is usually more toned down when Carolyn makes these posts. Part of the problem is that she's in the thick of it, where usually she'd move away; the other part is the shining white metal visible outside of the windows. ]

We docked somewhere.

[ Carolyn almost sounds like she can't believe it; in the background, it looks like someone practically has their nose pressed to the window to verify that they are, indeed, docked somewhere. ]

About ten minutes ago, judging by the noise we heard. It's gone now, which means-

[ There's a pause as someone says something, indistinct, but Carolyn's eyes widen a fraction. ]

One of the halls opened up. About 100 meters down from the shuttle bay -- we're definitely docked. Airlocks on both sides are open. [ She grimaces as she says this; luckily it actually seems to be oxygen and decent pressure over there. A few other crew members look fairly uneasy at the thought as well. ]

I shouldn't have to warn all of you to be careful if you head over there, but consider it done anyway. Let's not forget what happened last time. [ A beat then, helpfully: ] People were brainwashed and killed, last time.

[ Just before the video goes off, at least one person can be heard responding to that comment. ]

((ooc: YAY WE DOCKED AT ANOTHER PLACE THAT'S GOING TO TRY TO KILL US. Be prepared for the flight crew all over this post, guys.))

For those who noticed the incident that triggered the watering system in the garden a few hours ago, I'd like to assure you that it wasn't a ship error or an act of random vandalism, and it wasn't anything to be concerned about. It was an accident and it won't happen again.

[a pause. okay, anakin, your turn to speak. explain the accident]

There was a slight…malfunction while we were testing the repairbikes.

[okay, so perhaps it's more like "they were being idiots and pushed the bikes too hard and managed to hit a tree" but shh.

also, guess who isn't impressed about having to make this post in the first place? damn future masters.]

The rain managed to put out the fire before it spread, but- Look, it wasn't our fault. We fixed them perfectly, but then the controls froze up and it either this or let them fly about and possibly kill someone. At least this way it's just a few trees that got hit.

[because that means they made the right choice, doesn't it? he just glances back across at obi-wan now, leaving him to finish this up. there's a reason the other jedi usually takes the lead in discussions instead of him.]

Either way, we accept full responsibility for our actions, and apologize if we startled or frightened anyone.

[ooc: Blue is Obi-Wan, this refers to this!]

[ joe's not so much ill at ease on camera as he is just happier off, and the lack of desire to throw his metaphorical hat in to this particular ring bleeds through into his slumped posture. he's got his actual hat off and set to the side, because this calls for company manners which means your nicest flannel and no hat, as you do. ]

Name's Joe Davis, based outta Pernambuco. [ a beat. ] That's just about on the far edge of the farms on Pasiphae, right. [ since as it's been made abundantly clear, he's the only one who knows that sort of thing off-hand. ]

Nobody's wanted to tell me too much, but I get the sense something about this whole thing makes me look dangerous. And I understand that, and whatever questions you gotta ask I'm ready to answer them. [ in part because there's only one of him and a lot of everybody else and it's the smart call, but that can go unsaid. ] I guess I just wanted to say this is all new and confusing to me, too, and seeing as I'd rather not end up pistol whipped, if it's all the same to everybody-- [ yeah, dean, he saw that-- ] I figured maybe I'd make the first move, since it's seeming like maybe I've landed in a tight spot without meaning to here.

[ he looks down, rubbing at the back of his neck with a thumb, a little uncomfortable. ]

I'm not much for speeches, but it seemed like the thing to do-- think that's about it, anyway.

[ and with that, he's out. ]

[ irene's not sitting in her room, she's sitting in someone else's. namely, the room that once belonged to her version of sherlock holmes. on her index finger are three gold rings that she fidgets idly with while she speaks. ]

I see our very own cautionary tale has graced us with an echo. For those newly arrived, I'd say pay attention to that, and note what happens if you don't get yourself into a pod before the jump time. It leaves in quite a mess, or so I'm told.

[ there's a clink of rings as she shakes them off, letting them fall onto the side table, edging them lightly into place with her fingertips. ]

Now, having that settled, I suppose I'd ask an introduction on the part of those newly arrived. All those newly arrived. In all the chaos of your arrival, it's only polite that we all introduce ourselves. We are to be living in rather close quarters for the foreseeable future, are we not?

[ it's perhaps a side effect of how he hadn't been sleeping as well as he should have been before the jump, and how there's been a mess of nervous energy with him that he practically jolts out of the medbay after seeing that pepper and natasha and— everyone else, except jaye, jaye wasn't there. he should check that. but first he needs to check the numbers, check the data of everyone who's here, see the numbers left. that'll kill two birds with one stone, won't it. because he'll see her number, and it'll be fine.

it doesn't take long for him to get to his room and look at the program connor and him had set up once upon a time to track numbers of people, to make sure as soon as they were gone, you'd know for sure. it's faulty, he knows that, you don't have names to go with numbers, but he knows the important numbers for him. there's jaye, just fine and then he looks down, toward the later numbers, making sure none of the people he saw were just doubles with the wrong number and then he notices.

018 has people he already knew were there. 019 seems like it only has one person. and then 020 looks like a normal jump where people come. they shouldn't be on twenty. they had just done the nineteenth jump, he hadn't been asleep again, had he? had they had a coma and no— someone would have stopped him when they were stumbling about and he was rushing. it's another moment before tony scrambles to look at the network, hand shaking a little before he sees hotspur and jaye and other people, and he should say something to jaye, but that doesn't point to them not skipping a jump. why wasn't there talk about the nineteenth jump. why hadn't— he just needed to ask everyone the simple question. in text, because okay no, he is definitely not feeling like talking. ]

Anyone remember the nineteenth jump? Going through it, anything that happened? Don't tell me it's the one we just went through, because you might want to check all the new batches numbers, seriously. Actually you know what, 019 » 034, you have a name, don't you? You want to shed some light on being a 019er?

[ like how it seems like you're the only one maybe? ]
