[Filtered away from Charlotte Daniau and Joseph Davis.]

[L's voice is smoother than he is in person — low, slightly English-accented, calm and articulate and completely assured. He hasn't had much call to make public announcements on the ship in the past, but Nathan has left it in his lap this time, and he's not a stranger to addressing a crowd in this kind of capacity.]

Greetings. This is Ryuuzaki, speaking on behalf of the Communications Department.

The corrupted audio message sent by Charlotte Daniau originated in the Crew Quarters, which are located several levels below the bridge. Natasi has already transmitted the fully restored version of the recording, which matches ours.

Obviously, we would advise caution in entering that area, but we can confirm that it's currently accessible. Those of you who are interested in pursuing this might also check in with Security to see how they intend to handle it.

The other voice in the transmission appears to that of Joe Davis, the only passenger from the nineteenth jump. We don't know his status, but in my opinion -- [at this point, very slight irritation creeps into his voice] -- this recording throws any information we've received from him in the past into question.

[He knew they should have interrogated Joe properly, even as he wonders now if it would have done any good. If Joe was here on an operation, he might have been very hard to break.

In any case, while things don't sound good for The (Putative) Man From Pernambuco, this is all formatted with the express intent of not tipping off either Joe or Charlotte. It's possible that Charlotte could use the reassurance, but L doesn't think it's a risk worth taking.]

[OOC notes: This is the second half of the information needed to launch CharlotteQuest on the 6th. IC-ly, it should be considered to have happened just long enough after Caprica Six/Natasi's post for characters to have started thinking about what to do about what they heard and even for them to have started conversations about it on that earlier post, if you want (even if you haven't yet started them before this post went up, in OOC time). Another idea is for other characters who were working on this and whose players want it noted that they solved it to pipe up and confirm the accuracy of what was posted.

L will talk to anyone who seems to want to talk to him in particular, if that happens, but also feel free to use this post to continue making plans, volunteer, work things out, whatever! He probably won't get involved in those other kinds of conversations past a comment or two, and other Comms people may hop into them, too.]

[for anyone who has had the pleasure of being around stiles in the last couple months, he's suddenly looking far better. less panicky, less wan, and perhaps a bit more determined as well.

for anyone who is particularly familiar with stiles as a person (and considering how out of sorts he's been since being brought to the tranquility, that's really only going to be the people he knows from back home) they'll know that a determined stiles is almost always a dangerous one.
]

So it's good to hear that at least some of us aren't willing to just lay down and accept our abduction without a little bit of a fight. [a little fiercely] I for one am through with letting myself be manipulated or toyed with by our mysterious evil overlords.

I wasn't in the hallways when everyone started disappearing last month, mostly because I had just come back from being lost in the hallways. But I saw a brief mention of paintings in the latest recon report and I thought I should share with anyone who was interested to know the details of the mural I came across while I was wandering in the hallways.

Y'know, just in case it helps with any part of the deeper mystery of this place.

[he moves away from the comm for a moment now before coming back with a rough sketch (he's no artist like lydia) to show everyone: a blocky figure standing firmly, with a thin neck that seems to support nineteen heads, each with sharp red eyes. he keeps the image in view for a beat before setting it aside.]

Not sure what it means, apart from being super trippy, but it never hurts to have all the information, right?

[he pauses, considering, before continuing with a slightly more forcefully upbeat tone.] And I guess on a completely different note, anybody here a psychologist, or have any sort of experience in that kind of capacity?

So it's come to my attention that i'm one of the last ones left on the medical team on board. And now, the one who's been here the longest. [ Peter sounds a touch strained - for a variety of reasons - maybe a little on the tired side. But he's altogether more than willing to be doing this and he sounds enough like it to get by. ]

My name is Peter Petrelli and I woke up from a month long coma to find out that the entire department is under my control. I know I've missed a lot, but that doesn't change the fact that i'm happy to take on the mantle. What that doesn't mean is that I'm planning on trying run the whole thing by myself or considering ruling with an iron fist for my own benefit. But I might as well take the position that's been handed to me by way of default and make the most of it.

For those of you who don't know - who're new around here and haven't heard about it yet, we've got jobs that're set up by departments. That's the simplified version. If you want to hear more about all of them, I might not be the perfect person to ask considering I don't know everything about all of them. But if you're looking for a job doing something, ask around. There's more than enough opportunities for everyone.

But that's not what i'm trying to get at. [ A pause, only noteworthy because of the sigh that follows. ]

After missing a jump and the entire month that followed, i'm pretty sure i'm behind on who all's now in medical and who might want to be. Half of all I want is to meet everyone who's joined that I haven't met already, make sure i've got an actual grip on things. The other half is to try and find anyone who's interested in joining. We'll take anyone who thinks they can offer any kind of help - we're lacking in staff right now, or we were last I knew, and finding some more help would be appreciated.

Or if you just want to stop by the med bay to talk about it in person, feel free to. I'm here now if anyone's interested - I won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

[ She seems uncertain, at the use of the device which records her, peering a little too close, before pulling back. Trying her best to be at ease, even if she clearly is not completely. ]

Forgive me, fellow passengers of the tranquility, which I am told is a ship, though it is not one I should ever seek to employ --

[ but that is a rant for later, and she dismisses it quickly. ] -- I have been remiss in introducing myself, quite rightly I was not sure how to do so. But this seems the way of it, so I understand it. Though I am alone neither in name nor face. [ her amusement is brittle at best for it. ] I am Elizabeth Tudor, granddaughter to Elizabeth of York, and great-granddaughter to Elizabeth Woodville.

[ and she puffs out of breath in dry laughter. ] And by more time than is flattering to count such, Queen of England in turn. [ there's a pause and the propriety of it all seems to drop, introduction done. ]

Now that is out of the way, the matter that is far more important, what must be done to procure a decent drink on this twice cursed place? Or indeed how to pass the time at all, if my skills may be put to use, though I scarcely know where to apply them here. [ and that, truly seems to amuse her, quite darkly in fact. ] In any case, you shall find me a generous friend.

When you’re a kid, maybe you say to yourself:

"I wish I could go to Disneyland."

"I hope I'll get my cock sucked by fifteen. By sixteen, I better be banging someone in the back of dad's favorite car.”

"One day, I’ll get into Harvard and become a brown-nosing yuppie making bonuses bigger than my insecurity complex. I’ll get married even. Have a kid, maybe two. A dog. And if I'm really lucky, I won’t be miserable.”

Those are the sort of wishes that come true. The mundane ones. You don’t say: "Well, one day I’d really like to go up into space. Maybe spend a night or two in a space ship. A journey through space? Oh man, why not? Not like we've only gotten as far as the moon. ”

And then, bam. Space.

Life doesn’t work like this. You don’t get what you want and when you do, it never comes free. So, what’s the catch? Probing, space slugs taking over our brains, being sold as human cargo to a far away planet, a floating menagerie? The options are endless.

((ooc: If you guys could hit up this permissions post, it would be much appreciated. ))

[So Clara isn't really one for posting on networks, but she figures with the temperature going completely mad, she ought to at least try to get something done about it instead of sitting around and sulking. Sulking and shivering as she's doing currently in her room.

She flips the device to video, still shivering, and clears her throat before before speaking.]

So, judging by the rest of the posts, I'm not the only one who's room has suddenly turned into an ice box. And considering sleeping in the halls would be ridiculous and supposedly dangerous, I've got to ask if anyone has a coat they might lend me? Or if you're a polar bear, maybe we could switch rooms until the temperature starts going bonkers.

[She raises her eyebrows as if hopefully staring at whomever might watch her post. Then she grows more serious, thoughtful, as she carefully words the next question.]

And getting a bit more personal. Really personal. Has anyone else... been here before and yet completely forgotten that you were? Because I've been here before and so has my friend, the Doctor. But he's gone and I don't remember a thing.

[She frowns.] So if you knew me before, we should get acquainted again. Especially if I need to use the "buddy system" to go about the ship as it does require buddies.

I'm sure you must all see a lot've messages like this.

[ The man who appears is one who has appeared on the network before -- soft-faced and earnest, anxiety tested in the lines next to his eyes and a direct sort of stare that manages not to miss the tiny camera embedded in the device he's holding. Still, he smiles, just a little.

His address is slow and not exactly formal, just considered. ]

My name is Charles Xavier, and I'm newly arrived. You'll have to forgive me if I ask any questions you've heard before, though I'm doing my utmost to gather what I can on my own. I believe I've got the basic picture, although any advice is of course appreciated.

What I would most like to know is how many are here that had some sort of... [ He hesitates. ] ...gift. A natural ability of some kind, beyond the usual human faculties. A conversation would be of great interest to me.

Thank you.

[Right, okay. She can do this. It's just a piece of technology and Jenny's good with that. The video clicks on to show a young woman with bright blond hair pulled into a ponytail and a plain olive green shirt. This particular girl is standing near a window in the shuttle bay. When she speaks it's with a decidedly British accent - for those that even know what that means.]

Hello, I'm Jenny. [She gives everyone a smile before turning her attention to more serious matters.]

This isn't exactly what I had in mind when I set out to explore the universe. If I'd wanted to be stuck somewhere I would have stayed on Messaline. Out of the tunnels and into the hallways isn't much of a change. What do you people do here for fun besides get creepy things in your locker?

Does anyone know if people's ships show up here? I don't exactly know what happened to my escape shuttle so if it turns up let me know. I'd like it back, it's something I borrowed. [Borrowed she says with a bit of amusement. Who knows when she'll get the chance to return it.]

Seems my dad might've been here at one point. [Not that Jenny recognized the face to go with the name. Technically it isn't really even a name.] Can't say I'm surprised, he does travel a lot. So if any of you know the Doctor, I'd like to meet you.

[Okay, now she's done.]

Right, thanks.

[ when the feed begins, luke looks relatively calm, though there's a hint of stress in the faint line between his brows. it's.. been a rough jump, not just for him, but for the whole ship. he offers a polite nod, clearing his throat. for a moment, then, he looks a little awkward, like he's not quite sure how to start-- but he takes a deep breath and begins anyway. ]

Hello to new arrivals. Ianto has already posted a guide to explain everything we know about our situation here, so personally speaking, I think you should all take a few minutes to read it. I found it very helpful, myself, and he's extremely approachable if you have any further questions that aren't already covered.

With that said, speaking as a member of the security team, we've already had a few incidents in past jumps, and it seems we've had one this time, as well, so please be conscious of when and how often the jumps occur. It's good to prepare for them a few days out, and always have a plan. It doesn't pay to be too much of a hermit here, either, I'm afraid.

For the sake of some data collection on my part, I'd also be interested in arrivals and disappearances this jump, especially given the unusual circumstances surrounding it. Anything you can provide would be appreciated.

[ .. ugh, now for the hard part. ]

locked from sw folks;

--And for the record, not to take away from more serious business, but my name is Luke Skywalker for those who're new. I've recently become aware that some of you are familiar with me from, ah-- holos. Movies. That.. apparently depict parts of my life.

I don't think I have to ask anyone to be courteous to others from my galaxy, but just in case.. please be aware that not everyone will be able to take that sort of information well. And-- for those of you who are familiar with-- with me, with the galaxy I'm from, I'd be extremely grateful if you'd leave it to me to talk to Anakin about his future.

[ a slightly awkward, uncomfortable pause, rubbing his nape with his gloved hand. ]

.. Thank you, I think that's all.

[ it's perhaps a side effect of how he hadn't been sleeping as well as he should have been before the jump, and how there's been a mess of nervous energy with him that he practically jolts out of the medbay after seeing that pepper and natasha and— everyone else, except jaye, jaye wasn't there. he should check that. but first he needs to check the numbers, check the data of everyone who's here, see the numbers left. that'll kill two birds with one stone, won't it. because he'll see her number, and it'll be fine.

it doesn't take long for him to get to his room and look at the program connor and him had set up once upon a time to track numbers of people, to make sure as soon as they were gone, you'd know for sure. it's faulty, he knows that, you don't have names to go with numbers, but he knows the important numbers for him. there's jaye, just fine and then he looks down, toward the later numbers, making sure none of the people he saw were just doubles with the wrong number and then he notices.

018 has people he already knew were there. 019 seems like it only has one person. and then 020 looks like a normal jump where people come. they shouldn't be on twenty. they had just done the nineteenth jump, he hadn't been asleep again, had he? had they had a coma and no— someone would have stopped him when they were stumbling about and he was rushing. it's another moment before tony scrambles to look at the network, hand shaking a little before he sees hotspur and jaye and other people, and he should say something to jaye, but that doesn't point to them not skipping a jump. why wasn't there talk about the nineteenth jump. why hadn't— he just needed to ask everyone the simple question. in text, because okay no, he is definitely not feeling like talking. ]

Anyone remember the nineteenth jump? Going through it, anything that happened? Don't tell me it's the one we just went through, because you might want to check all the new batches numbers, seriously. Actually you know what, 019 » 034, you have a name, don't you? You want to shed some light on being a 019er?

[ like how it seems like you're the only one maybe? ]

[It's taken a few months but Q has finally run out of things to toy and tinker with. He's attempted to hack his communicator to no end, he's wiped his laptop twice already and tetris can only keep him occupied for so long. As such, he needs some more hardware, particularly if he wants to make any discoveries about the ship, and he's forced to make a public post to ask for it. Armed with social shyness under the pretence of security, he's decided to write a text post. At least that way he has enough time to carefully consider what he says before he submits it to the world.

Hello everyone. My name's Charlie and I work in communications. I'm a bit of a hobbyist in regards to technology, though on the Tranquility I'm a little short on supplies. I feel a tad uncomfortable attempting to pull the ship apart. [That and he's already tried.] So I was wondering if anyone had any spare communicators or technology from back home which they don't need which they might be able to lend me. I don't mind if it's broken or functioning incorrectly. If it had a battery or wires in it at some point, I probably want it.

Although it's not much, in return I can offer one of these which I have made:

[He inserts a clip of a handmade version of a piggy cook, though it's definitely more of a robot than a pig. It's crafted out of odd bits of metal and cutlery, with a shirt made out of a bedsheet. Presentation has never quite been Q's forte.]

They aren't particularly beautiful, though the mechanics are good and I thought they might provide some form of novelty.
