[The text goes out as a general announcement to the ship, but especially to those he knows are friends of one Captain Steve Rogers.]

So -- a friend of mine and I figured we needed to liven up this ship with something not ....well, horrible. So we're having a movie night, showing some of Captain America's finest works. Feel free to either follow the smell of popcorn or just ask me where it is if you have any interest.

[--And as promised, Bucky is waiting in one of the rooms with a holodeck screen, projector helpfully provided and built by one Howard Stark. He switches to video, then, grinning, and sends two messages privately.]

[PRIVATE TO HOWARD STARK AND STEVE ROGERS:]

Both of you better get your asses up here.

[OOC: Now with an accompanying log!]

[ Even though Ianto has already put out his own call to the ship's residents, there are a few people feels like she needs to check on personally. She's put it off longer than she should, but part of her has been a little worried about what she might find out.

Nonetheless, she gets a grip on her fears and turns on the video feed. Her hair is damp and hangs straight around her face, and she's dressed in one of the ship-standard jumpsuits. Sitting on her bed, she has her knees pulled up and her arms wrapped around them, the communicator apparently sitting propped on a pillow. ]

I hope everyone is...well I can't expect 'all right', but I can hope for it. So I hope everyone is all right. If there's anyone who needs...help, maybe? For yourself, or for someone else. I'm great at providing support services in a crisis.

Does anyone out there know Bucky Barnes? Have you seen him? Can you tell me if he- how he is?

Tagged to Howard Stark, Private Filter, No Encryption.
Howard, I'd really like to talk to you.

[OOC: Anyone can reply to the main transmission or the portion tagged for Bucky, if they want. Howard's portion is private but not encrypted, so if you're the nosy type it's there to be seen, though please pay attention if the thread ends up encrypted later.]

[ Toshiko puts on her most sincere, "I'm friendly and come in peace" smile for the camera. The two people on board who know her well might notice the tension present behind it. ]

Since I've only just arrived and it seems there's a lot to learn around here, I'm hoping someone out there can answer a couple of questions for me. Just simple ones right now, really.

What do you all do for fun, in your leisure time? Is there a library, or games? Darts, pool table, that sort of thing maybe?

And, um...I know there's been a little talk about it, but is there any alcohol on board? And if so, is it available for public consumption or do I have to beg someone for a drink or two?

So give or take a month [or a couple of weeks] and thank whoever runs this boat, we finally got some movies. They've got a swell soundtrack and an even better star. I know some of you have actually heard of Captain America [his voice takes on a little patina of pride here] but he was a terrible actor.

Seriously, he couldn't stop looking at the camera.

And the one movie where they asked him to kiss the dame at the end, I heard he practically tripped over himself to avoid it.

[Okay, it's entirely possible that Howard is making that up]

I built a projector, and Bucky wants to host a viewing, so if you might be a fan of the Star-Spangled Man, or if you just don't have anything to do, come over.

[And look at the projector I built out of spare things I found lying around.]

It's better than sitting around thinking about the physical impossibilities of interstellar travel.

[Or the sons you have. Plural, now. Doesn't everyone do that?]

[Private to Tony Stark (MCU) | 100% encrypted]

You got a brother? A kind of dim one?

[Private to Miss Stone | 100% encrypted]

I talked to him, Miss Stone, but I don't think he's interested in anything else.

[Bucky has been doing some reading. Quite a lot of reading, about New York, and how it;s changed over the years he's missed, what's gone on -- well, as much as he can manage. And he has noticed one very important thing, here. He fixes the comm with a very serious look, before asking:]

....So, who do I need to yell at for not tellin' me the Dodgers left Brooklyn? Los Angeles doesn't even have trolleys, why do they need a team called the Dodgers.

[A little mutter:] At least the Mets are around, so we don't have to root for the Yankees.

[Hey, Tranquility. It's that bratty redhead that's been bothering people off and on since two jumps ago. And what is he up to this time? Well, he just looks confused, really.]

I don't get it. How do- I mean, I know how, but. Where I came from we didn't- I only knew like seven people.

[He screws up his face a little, because he just doesn't get it]

How do you guys talk so much?

[private to jesse pinkman and miles edgesworth | not encrypted | video]

[The Libby--and it's just Libby, even if her face is clean and her hair is gently washed and flowing smooth and purely blonde--who appears in the video is relieved. Not drunk, not jittery with tension, not panicked or cornered or twisted by anger. Just relieved, smiling with an old, recently missing quirk to it, wrapped up in an oversized black jacket and smoking with a hand that shakes but only slightly.]

Hey, guys. Guess who I can't find? Um--do you want to like. Watch a stupid future movie or whatev, some time? I've got--I've got a lot of free time. So. You know. Or anything.

And, um--maybe we should all check in. Every morning and tonight. Your girls too, Jesse. I just ydon't want--well. A lot of people have been going missing. [She ruffles her hair with her free hand, but still. For the first time since she got here she can breathe.] But yeah. Anything you want.

[private to james rogers | not encrypted | voice]

Um. Hey.

[Nervous, but that's fine, right? Everything is fine today.]

[public | voice]

Loki's gone. I don't know who of you care, but unless he shows up and calls me an idiot on this thing--he's gone. So. Tally that up, I figure.

[A quiet, disbelieving laugh, her voice mellow and soft, and Libby falls back on her bed.]

[ as always with a banner post, the opener cues up a half uncomfortable, awkward smile. sincere, but still twitchy. bruce: never going to like public speaking, thanks. ]

I spent some spare time lately messing with my communicator, and I thought I'd share the benefits.

[ more: he's been reminding himself to do this since speaking to ros, but 'the pretty red haired woman with the hungry smile who can't read inspired this' seems a little too much. better to be a bored scientist tinkering with things. ]

I thought it might be useful to have a-- reading function on these things, so to speak. It's not the most elegant job, but I can show my work if anyone else wants to keep going on something a little more structured.

...Anyway. The program I threw together reads text posts aloud. [ in something that sounds a lot like betty's voice, because bruce is a dork. ] I know language barriers aren't much of an issue here, and I can't promise an attached dictionary, but it's something.

[ he hesitates. ]

We're all very focused on the immediate, and we should be. But it might not hurt to add a few more-- non-essential projects to the pile, just to make life a little more comfortable. [ not that he doesn't want to be home-- well, all right, some of him doesn't-- but of all people, bruce understands the need to make something good happen, see tangible and rewarding results for your efforts in between everything else. ]

...Right.

[ the half smile bruce turns towards his communicator is particularly pained, now. there really should be a lost and found okay, so he doesn't have to do something like this to keep from feeling wasteful and more than a little cowardly. ]

Last jump, I received a few things I don't need. If anyone wants them, I'll leave them all in a box outside 006 » 029. First come, first serve.

Don't say it, Tony. [ that probably guarantees trolling. reverse psychology for fun and profit, and banner out. ]

[Jim addresses the network with prim efficiency this jump. his voice, curiously, is devoid of most of the warmth and infectious rabel-rousing it normally has. instead, it's clipped and professional; the voice of a captain stating facts and orders. anyone who has been around a while will know that something is off, and as he goes on, it becomes clear why.]

Tranquility this is Jim Kirk. To anyone joining us, welcome, and to anyone returning, welcome back.

I know you all have questions. Myself and those who have been on board for a while will be happy to answer any that you have, but before doing so I'll clear some of the more obvious ones up.

You're on the space ship Tranquility, a colonization vessel in a parallel universe to your own. The year is 938 A.E., and presently, we have no way of returning anyone to their home continuum. We ask, instead, that you lend a hand in the running of the ship. This isn't mandatory, but we are all that's left of a crew. Even if you have no previous experience on a starship, we'll be able to find a place for you.

Attached to this broadcast is what we have of a map of the ship. It's a rough outline, as we've found corridors spontaneously change, commonly with each jump. I ask everyone to be cautious when moving about the ship, and to avoid engaging the entity commonly known as "Smiley" on board.

[here, the pauses briefly, the crux of his attitude coming to light.]

Presently, I'd like anyone with information on missing persons to come forward. Dean Winchester and Doctor Leonard McCoy have both disappeared from our number, and I have the feeling they aren't the only ones.

Kirk out.

This place is nuts, you know that, and I fought Nazis, I know nuts. This breaks all kinds of rules. Hasn't anyone heard of relativity? This doesn't just go off the brain of some pulp writer, these things have to have foundations and-

[Pause, and a breath]

All right, I get it. Shut up, Stark, right? Some of the fellas back home would be having a day at the zoo with this, going into space, saving dames, all that. Me, I'm a simple sort of guy. Tell me there's a place with blueprints for this boat, and I'll be happy. Anyone? How about the variables for the jump? I've been here five minutes and I already want to know this stuff, I don't believe that anyone who's been here more than that hasn't tried to figure it out yet.

[But he'll forgive you if you haven't. Not everyone can be Howard Stark.]
