we might have a problem.

[ normally tony wouldn't bring this up at all, but creepy red smile thing is really fucking creepy and this is some shit out of a horror film. ]

not a demon problem, because unless i'm wrong winchester and the angel thing have that dealt with. was going to mention this before that came up, but not all of us can split our attention between two things. actually most of you can't. right, though, problem of the ship variety.

[ and then an attachment entitled i am a smile and i am creepy is sent to everyone's device. ]

i know what you're going to say, tony you made the creepy smiling thing mad. you're going to get us all killed. no, i'm not. what i did was discover something kind of important. the good ship tranquility is watching us. and as much as i'm cool with being watched, kind of want to know who the fuck is watching me on this huge ship. weirdly enough.

i know you two are watching everything. what do you say about this?

[ finally tony adjusts his device to video and if they pay attention, they see that he's in his suit. it's a bit of a way to intimidate them, but he's not going to come right out and say it. ]

Okay, whatever, you two are in charge along with Kirk. I don't care, if that's one of you two, I want to know. Everyone does, but I'm the one who asked the questions and got the answer so I get the first answer.

Is it possible the ship itself could be sentient?

hate to be captain obvious, but do we actually know this isn't a demon problem? (or wasn't a demon problem.)

[ natasha may or may not have been keeping track of that conversation as it was happening, and she's not sure causing panic by bringing the public's attention to it is such a good idea, especially with the demon situation still ongoing.

but with any luck, the demon situation is temporary. none of them can exactly escape the ship. ]

i say that whatever or whoever it is obviously has had a plan for us since we were pulled aboard. i'm not sure i want to know who it is so much as i want to know what it is.

i also say that it's probably not a good idea to poke whatever this is with sticks if it's already planning on harming us.

I'm sure someone else will say it, but Tranquility itself could be watching us. For its own purposes. Why it would tell you that is beyond me, though. I suppose there isn't a lot we can do about the fact it's watching even with that knowledge.

Nothing in Engineering smiled, or was red, or gave red smilies. Just so you know.

It sounds like it's doing more than watch.

I would assume the idea that the ship is watching us is a confirmation of previous beliefs? Why else would a bunch of, for the most part, strangers be gathered upon a ship like this if not to be observed? Not to say it couldn't be happening with one or another members upon the ship, but the likely situation that we've been dropped into is one of testing and observation. There are stimuli provided-- the aforementioned demons, things arriving from home, et cetera-- and of course the test subjects-- us.

[ Never mind how much he sounds like Erik right now, it is the logical conclusion and while Charles has an issue with his own ego he isn't about to let it interfere with anything that might clue him into a way home or at least a reasonable explanation for their prolonged presence here and the lack of a true crew. ]
