006 ☀ video ☀ FORWARD-DATED to a few minutes POST-JUMP end
[ There are a few things everyone might notice about this video post. One is that there's no way Jaye could have gotten from the medbay to the kitchen on the 001 passenger floor this quickly. Two is that her hair looks both dirtier and longer than usual, and instead of either happily mussed or neatly groomed, it's just a complete mess. Three is that, judging by the way Jaye sort of seems to be wobbling back and forth on the floor and has burst capillaries in her face, she was just rather sick and might be so again. Likewise, anyone who looked around before or after the jump may have noticed that Jaye wasn't there -- didn't go down, didn't go into the gravity couches, and that Faith Lehane was looking after her animals. ]
So. [ Her voice is hoarse, quiet, and the rasp is completely new and sounds painful –- in fact, she has to pause, clearing her throat for a moment. It doesn't go away completely, but she's a bit louder, at least. ] I-- [ and she winces ] sat out during the jump as an insect. Don’t do that. It was a month. Everything was red, copper and salt, until it ended.
[ It hurts to talk, and Jaye takes a moment to rub at her throat. ] Want a shower, food.
[ She pauses, glancing away from the camera for a moment. Her eyes aren’t exactly wet, and maybe it's from her earlier vomiting, but either way... ] Missed you guys. [ And she cuts the feed. ]
((ooc: MCU!Tony will be getting her from the kitchen and carrying her down to medical. Her replies will probably come from after she's there and probably be in text form. If your character wants to go visit her there (or fuss at her or whatever), I'd be up for it, but be warned that she's having a bit of a hard time talking at the moment and will set Faith on you if she feels shitty.
Also someone might want to clean up the 001 kitchen. ))

well, you know where i'll be. ugh.
action!!!
You understand what you did was incredibly reckless.
no subject
Yes, mom. [ She taps more a moment later, though. ] I knew the insects aren't hurt during jumps. I knew I'd be fine, that it wouldn't kill me.

They're still organic, Jaye. [his jaw works for a moment, datapad lowering to his side. it's clear that he has a strong opinion on this, and that he's likely not saying everything he could be.] I appreciate what you did, we're all taking risks up here to better our understanding of this ship, but the fact is that no life is worth endangering like that. Your guess could have been incorrect, and your death would have been for nothing.

So are the plants, if you want to play with technicalities. [ She's sitting up and she grosses her arms over her chest, tilting her head to one side. ] It wasn't a guess. And last I checked, it's my life anyway.
no subject
[which- is kind of his point, but he exhales slowly.] The technicalities are important. They can result in life or death, especially up here. You weren't even in the Oxygen Garden. Did you have any proof that the garden didn't lock down before the jump? I'm just- [he gestures, palm open, and despite his irritation (which is chiefly concern) there's something genuine in his face] asking you to be more careful.
no subject
[ YOU SAID ORGANIC she will pick at whatever technicalities she can, Jim. Plus, well, she works for Coyote. He's a very Colors of the Wind type of guy. ]
No you aren't. You're pointing out all the ways you think you could have done it better.
no subject
No, I'm explaining the necessity for caution. Considering how long you've been here, I thought you would have known better.
no subject
[ She's so mad she's apparently forgotten that she's having issues walking, because she's tossing the blankets off and moving to the edge of her bed like she's going to storm out. ]
no subject
he does a little half skip forward, hand shooting out to grab her arm to stop her movement, to stop her from getting out of bed. he's directly in her way, now, anyway so she can't go anywhere unless she shoves him aside.
he's not sold on her physics argument, but he's definitely going to be looking into it, now.]
Wait- [and he exhales through his nose because Jim has never been good at apologies.] I didn't mean to piss you off. [and when he's sure she isn't going to leap off the bed in a fit of rage, he lets his hand slide off her arm, and his expression twists. a combination of kicking himself and discomfort.] I was worried. You're fine, now, and that's all that matters in the end. [and if he sounds like he's convincing himself, he might be a little, but he gives her back her space either way.]
no subject
But Jim says "wait" and it's her turn to take a deep breath, to let her teeth (and her nails) shrink back to normal, to let her skin go back to freckled instead of striped. ]
Damn right.
no subject
it's probably supposed to be terrifying, but it's beautiful to him.
still, he lets his hand slide off her arm when she takes a breath.]
You should take it easy. [he says, stepping back, and his mouth quirks.] I wouldn't try getting up, the doctors can be pretty hostile if you don't do what they tell you.
no subject
I fucking hate doctors, [ she growls out, shoving anger into it instead of unease, instead of fear. She hates doctors, hates hospitals, hates being trapped and hates being an easy target. ] They try and inject me with anything and I'm shoving it in their fucking eyeballs.
[ Good job telling her the doctors get hostile, Jim. Really. Good job. ]
no subject
[but Jim isn't a very good patient; he talks too much and flirts with the staff. either way, some of the on hand are giving him the beady eye and he knows it's time for him to go.] Try to relax.
[he says, gaze lingering on her for a moment, before he excuses himself to leave.]
no subject
[ And once again, deflating. Sinking back into bed. She doesn't try to stop him from leaving, just watches him go and ignores the sinking suspicion that maybe she's worse off than she thought. ]
