I’ll give it to this place, this has to be one of the oddest awakenings I’ve had. Still doesn’t beat Nepal though…

[The last part is muttered, almost to himself, before he turned back to the camera, all business.]

Not to ask the same question twice, but I’d like to go home as much as the next person, so perhaps I’ll save on some of the legwork and reach out. How can I help make sure this ship reaches its destination in one piece? I do have military training and my information gathering skills can be useful.

[There’s a small pause, and then he smiles, a small almost innocent look.]

Also I’m rather decent at poker, if that will help us any. So, who’s recruiting?

There are various departments, all of which are understaffed. [ she considers him for a moment, gaze assessing even over the video. ] If you have military training, Security or Gunnery are probably the most suited.

[That doesn't sound too promising, and Eames can't help but furrow his brow at that a little.]

I see. Are you a member of either? I'd like to hear some firsthand accounts before making a decision.

It's one of the first that was recommended to me, but I like to keep my options open. Are you from that department?

Pretty much any department will want your help. I can't speak for them all, but SEC is always looking for good people.

Can I ask what department you're from? I'd like to know more about them before making any decisions. A description on a screen is fine but it tends to be the case that it won't mention all the duties that are required.

I have a talent for getting information out of people, though so far it seems like that bit of information has been overlooked. I'm guessing security is the most desperate for recruits, or that you bunch are troublemakers.

Oh so that will come in handy here? I was starting to believe that this place would be all business. [Namely dull.]

[This man's recognition startles him for a short moment, before he's looking at the camera a bit more closely. He's rather positive he hasn't introduced himself to this man, but perhaps there are workings about this network that he hasn't been made aware of yet.]

[ jamie is interested in the mention of information gathering, and has been idly browsing the rest of the post both for the intelligence on departments and in an effort to learn more about this man. it doesn't quite yield the results she'd like, so instead she records a small, playful smile. her accent is a blurry mid-usa, with a touch of british that implies she's spent some time on the continent, and her makeup is impeccable. ]

Do you already have a surplus of charming quasi-decent poker players? Or is there some department that is somehow magically not short staffed?

Anderson's already got you set up down in Gunnery, but you got a set of cards, I know I wouldn't say no to a game of poker. We'd take you on that alone.

If I had known that I was going to be abducted on a spaceship with little entertainment, I would have brought my cards along. Would Gunnery still be interested or should I look elsewhere?

Being decent at poker can definitely be an asset in this place.

[ That might sound like a threat if not delivered so smoothly. But when the dark-haired woman smiles, it's not the most reassuring thing. After the conversation with Snape, however, maybe he has a few guesses as to why that might be. ]

As for the rude awakening, you'll either get used to it... [ One shoulder comes up in a slow shrug that reaches its peak on the last note of that sentence, dropping again after. One corner of her mouth quirks upward intandem. ] Or that's when that poker face comes in handy.
