[ VIDEO ]
[When the video transmission starts, there’s a rather neat and tidy man in a suit, seated in one of the passenger quarters.]
I’ll give it to this place, this has to be one of the oddest awakenings I’ve had. Still doesn’t beat Nepal though…
[The last part is muttered, almost to himself, before he turned back to the camera, all business.]
Not to ask the same question twice, but I’d like to go home as much as the next person, so perhaps I’ll save on some of the legwork and reach out. How can I help make sure this ship reaches its destination in one piece? I do have military training and my information gathering skills can be useful.
[There’s a small pause, and then he smiles, a small almost innocent look.]
Also I’m rather decent at poker, if that will help us any. So, who’s recruiting?

sure c: how okay are you with her reading his mind btw
[ and she is — small and blonde, but holding herself like a soldier for all that she isn't, not really. ( close enough, though. )
when he approaches, she'll turn as though she knows he's there before she sees him, and hold out a hand for him to shake. ]

Anderson. It's nice to meet you in person.
[He had expected her to be... taller, but she holds herself well and he'll extend his hand, smiling warmly.]
I appreciate you taking the time to show me around. I'm curious to see how technology's come when it concerns weaponry.
no subject
[ he gets a nod and a handshake, and though she's not exactly smiling, her expression isn't unfriendly. ] It's no trouble.
What year are you from? [ if that's what he's wondering. ]
[ ooc; she wouldn't really go beyond surface thoughts without a good reason, anyhow. he's welcome to notice her snooping if she does end up digging, though? ]
okay sounds good to me. o/
[He's not sure if that's helpful, since people could be from different planets, galaxies, or have completely different measurements for time.]
no subject
[ as far as anderson can tell, at least. it's no surprise that he's from her past; that seems to be another commonality. there are more people from the 21st century than any other time, she thinks.
she starts walking, trusting he'll follow. ] 2103, for me.
no subject
What's it like in your time?

He whistled slightly at her explanation, shaking his head. WWIII happening wasn't much of a surprise, but mutants and judges?]
It sounds like a rather harsh environment. Are you eager to get back?
no subject
[ is she eager to get back? not really. she's not sure what is left for her in mega city one; she won't ever be a judge, or at least so she thinks. losing her primary weapon was an automatic fail.
at least here, she can make a difference. there's people aboard that she's come to care about a great deal. ] If it was my choice, I'd stay.
no subject
The look he gives her is considering, before nodding thoughtfully.]
The people here have been rather welcoming, considering the circumstances.
[Well, most of them. And, to keep the subject light and complete his objective, he gestured with a nod of his head towards the equipment.]
There's safeties on these, I would assume? Care to run the controls by me?
no subject
anderson is an idealist and she believes in the best in people — but she's also from a world where trust and lowering her guard might mean death, and so her idealism is firmly couched in pragmatism.
she does, however, explain that most of the consoles are currently still out of working order, that they're trying to fix them up (all true) and then shows him the armory. ]

[He rubbed the back of his neck, sighing slightly.]
However Security does seem like it's exhibiting a greater need. Are there many external threats that are faced?
[He does however, take care to listen to her explanations and try to absorb as much as possible. If he had his way, he would join multiple departments to keep from being bored, and the thought of learning about futuristic technology appeals to him.]
no subject
[ when anderson had joined gunnery, it had consisted of only three people. things have gotten better, since. ] There are some, though, and the gun range and armory fall under our responsibility.
[ but she's not denying that security might need people more. ] Some people pull shifts in several departments.
no subject
I won't complain about that.
[While Gunnery would hold a bit more interest to him, he does brighten at the thought of splitting his time between different departments. It could give him access to more information and could be a good launching site to meet people who would be on the forefront effort to bring everyone home.]
If you say it like that, I'm sold. Where do I sign up?
no subject
[ he thinks about getting everyone home, not just himself, and that more than anything convinces her that his intentions, at least, are trustworthy. ]
no subject
[He might be more interested in getting himself home, but if it means team work he can do team work.]
no subject
[ in other words, he'll still need to make some sort of choice. ]
no subject
What about Gunnery? Any restrictions?
no subject
no subject
Is Gunnery your one department?
no subject

[And yet none of them had offered up a tour. He crossed his arms, leaning leisurely against the wall. He'd ask a few more questions to cure his curiosity if she would allow then take his leave.]
no subject
no subject
[He'll push himself off of the wall, inclining his head respectfully.]
I appreciate your time and your helpfulness, so I'll try not to take advantage. What's the best way to contact Mr. Teller?
no subject
He usually responds to messages promptly.
