accidental video → voice ; 001

[ the feed is suddenly jostled to life when it hits the floor, catching the tail end of a frustrated grunt/growl/noise of great distress/whatever/etc. please do enjoy the view of the ceiling from the floor.

offscreen there is a noise of sudden movement and then mjolnir is heavily slammed on the floor right next to the device. electrical currents fire and spark across the metal and cast out small fingers of lightning. it's nothing grand and from the look on thor's face, it's troubling. and right getting ready to piss him off. these actions are repeated in triplicate, but reach the same conclusion.

after the last time, he stands, raising the hammer above his head and tries one last time. except he's much too close to the light fixture. and while his lightning might not be as strong as it once was, it's certainly enough to cause the bulb to break and rain down electrical sparks. there's two beats of silence before he releases an angry battle cry and mjolnir is dropped, cutting the feed suddenly.

but, then a bit later, a voice...! ]

Who is responsible for this? How am I to use my weapon now—Mjolnir is useless to me in this condition. [ this is almost like new mexico all over again. ] Is there some sort of black magic restricting it's use? I demand it be fixed at once.

[ he falls silent, then there's almost an embarrassed edge to the next question, ] Where might one find replacement fixtures of light?

[ Good luck getting inside Loki's headspace, because it's more tightly sealed than any vault. But Thor should know that by now. He's welcome to try, not like Loki could stop him—from trying, at least. It might even be amusing to watch. But if there's one thing Thor should trust, it's that Loki knows there's no room for big displays of violence on this ship; he wouldn't want to risk it, not while he himself is on board. He couldn't care for anyone else, but until he can be assured of his own safety, he's being cautious. Which is part of the reason he wants to get on Thor's good side. If they were on bad terms, there'd be a greater chance for tensions to build and ultimately explode. Though there's still a chance for it to happen, considering the history that lies between them and the fact that neither of them have reformed their ways since they last spoke (and fought), Loki will do everything in his power for now to prevent it. Because even with their powers at half-strength, it would be without a doubt disastrous.

No, despite his tendency to cause mischief and stir up trouble—his love of chaos and his ambitions of domination—he doesn't want to be creating any disasters just yet. So in that sense, at least, his desire for reconciliation is earnest. Though Thor is still right to watch him because he's always scheming, ahaha. In the past it might've been something fun for the both of them, but nowadays that's just not the case. And they both know it.

He's satisfied by the sound of that exhale, knowing he'd struck a nerve. There's a smug curve of his lips invisible in the dark, and mostly inaudible in his voice. Only if Thor listens hard. ]
I should hope so.

You never did answer my question— [ he clasps his hands in front of him again ] Are you king yet, Thor? Was your lesson so well learned that you redeemed yourself in Father's eyes?

[ Which is not a total digression from the matter at hand. He really does want to know. It could be...important information. For the future. For now though he might just sound like a curious, concerned brother. ]

[ It would behoove Thor to get over his foolish ideas and just let go, but he just wouldn't be Thor if he did that, would he? He wouldn't be Thor if he wasn't a fool, and if he didn't cleave to his foolish notions and his hope that things could change. That they could revert to normal and they could all be happy again—if Loki was ever actually happy to begin with. (He was, once; he doesn't remember the exact moment when it changed, it was more like a gradual eroding away like it was the ground beneath his feet and once it was gone he had nothing left to stand on, and he's never been able to figure out how to get it back.) If Loki's honest with himself, deep down, he needs Thor to keep trying and to keep believing in him even when it seems like all hope is lost.

But Loki is never honest, least of all with himself.

Those words etch a scowl into his face, and displeasure colors his tone. ]
If you keep suggesting that, I'm going to start to think you want me to suffer, brother.

[ But why shouldn't he? Thor has more reason than anyone to want Loki to suffer for his crimes. ]
