This is former Alliance Navy, arguably currently Cerberus employed flight lieutenant Jeff Moreau; callsign “Joker”; while I’ve already gotten an idea of what’s going on with the shuttles down in the hanger thanks to Hotspur, a guy’s gotta ask: why haven’t we made it a priority to get those repaired and running and ditched this floating coffin?

[He scratches at his chin – beard’s getting a little scruffy around the edges there – and shifts on camera, looking more than a little annoyed.]

Just, you know, throwing that out there. I don’t know about you, but I know I got better places to be than something out of a creepy ship like this. I mean, who designed this shit with the flying buttresses and all the funky internal architecture? It’s like some sort of Gothic antfarm in space.

Do we even know what planets are around? I'm not trying to be Mr. Negative, but as far as I can tell no one even knows where here is, so you'd just be flying us into nothing.

It's my understanding that people aren't rushing to fix the shuttles because the space here is unfamiliar to anyone who has arrived so far.

[Which means that once they get out of here ... where are they supposed to go, exactly?]

It may be on my list of things to do. From the visuals I've been getting from the stars around us, it's certainly nowhere I've ever been.

I'm not part of the official engineering team - but I can see what I can do to help. I know my way around some ships.

[ There's a pinch of hostility in her voice--she's not quite pleased with Joker's tone. ]

And look at you, you're the littlest space marine. [so patronizing] Listen; I don't care why they want us, so long as it can be avoided -- since, you know, kidnapping is rarely a great venture for the kidnapped.

I just got shit to do on my own world, okay? Universe to save and all that.

I keep hearing about these things needing to be fixed. I think it's a great idea, myself.

Great! I'm usre a lot of people know what need to be fixed, having been here longer than me.

I figure when i stumble across the hangerbay I might take a look as well. You know how many they got broken down in there?

We got whole teams dedicated to trying to find out if we can reverse whatever it is that's brought us here - that's why we haven't bailed on the Tranquility. There are too many people from different timelines of events for us all to be able to make it back to our homes without figuring out what brought us here first. Plus there's a whole crew that's gone missing before we all turned up, which I reckon needs some answers. That's why we haven't bailed. [ Hotspur's a hell of a patient guy but Joker's implication that the state of disrepair of the shuttles in the hangar bay isn't important to anyone sits uncomfortably with him. There's a current of wounded pride in the way Hotspur firmly adds: ] But as the Tranquility's flight officer I'm telling you that getting those shuttles up and running is my priority.

Our priority. Soon as I can gimp my ass down there, you'll be hard pressed to get me to leave.

[ there's a curve of a smile that slowly begins to work its way over Hotspur's expression as he nods slowly. ] Good. I need that kind of dedication down here. [ a beat. ] What did you fly back home?
