( 003 ) video ✶ it goes like this: the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall the major lift

[ jenna's more than a little perturbed by the recent realizations-- doors with messages on them, missing people-- but she still tries to pin on a happy face for her post. it's a little wilted around the edges, but sincere all the same. ]

So, in my grand tradition of beating a dead horse: welcome to the Tranquility, new kids. And... welcome back to the rest of us, I guess. If we haven't met already, I'm Jenna.

First order of business: a couple of us have been putting lists together, and maps. Maybe we should throw them together? One stop shopping style, easier for everyone. Oh, and: if you're new, or if this is your second jump and you're antisocial, please just put your name on a list. I don't care if the name is fake-- although anyone claiming to be named Seymour Butts gets the door-- but just give us a name so we can know you're here.

Last time around, we had a party slash movie night. Anyone up for another one? Booze, food, making some connections-- nothing wrong with that.

[ she taps her fingers against her thigh, clearly trying to think if she's forgotten anything. ]

Oh hey, while I'm at it-- does anyone have a hoodie they'll trade for?

Does anyone know for sure if people have gone missing? I'm pretty sure I know someone who has, and we should-- [ she inhales, rubs at her forehead. ] find out if they're off the ship, or missing, or--

[ another pause. dead is an option, too. ] Anyway, just let me know.

Okay, here's an ethics question. Let's say you're not technically dating someone due to certain long story kind of complications, but it's understood stepping out on them would be cheating. How long is long enough before telling them they need to make a call either way?

Do you have a couple minutes tonight? [ as in: can i come get something to eat. (not that she wants to ask that right out.) and in case her subtext was a little too sub: ] I could stop by the med bay.

( ooc | anything jenna encrypts will be fairly easy to hack; her skill level is pretty basic, so she's not tragic but anyone who works with code on even a casual basis can crack it, easily. )

[ Le gasp! A new word. Mouse tries it on for size. ]

Über-neat. [ Yup, love at first utterance, right there. ] Totally willing to help. No booze, though. Just smokes. [ Mouse frowns, obviously disappointed in himself that he's not contributing to the party-hard. ]

...could trade, maybe?

[ Mouse considers this as if it was some great, ponderous thing. ]

But then double-booze from Jenna. Not really fair. Even with smokes. [ He purses his lips and then puffs up his cheeks, expelling a loud raspberry noise as he ponders. ] Could make popcorn?

Could fail though. Fail like a failing thing.

[ Mouse sulks a little, droopily. ]

Boo.

[ Yay, she said friend. That makes Mouse seem to beam all the more beatifically. He makes another raspberry noise but this one seems...more precious. ]

Biased. Totally biased. [ His eyebrows lift as he considers this. ] Though, biased's okay. [Mouse nods. ] If it means getting to hang.

[ A pause. Wait for it. Waaaaaait for it. ]

Oh! [ A squeak. ] Dodgeball. Ever play?

[ Mouse decides that he should be extra nice to Dr. Watson the next time he sees him. After all, it totally won him this übercool parka — even Jenna said so. He hums in a pleased way, the image of the camera jostling as he bounces on the balls of his feet. ] Never got to play. [ Mouse crinkles his nose. ] Homeschooled, and— yeah.

[ Mouse's attention drifts for a moment as he thinks about the desert and his father and way back when. It's not that long ago — just a few years — but it makes Mouse miss his dad and he appears almost sulky. But he recovers quickly enough, blinking back into the camera, saying: ]

Might play a game! Maybe. Maaaaaaybe. [ An earnest nod. ] If Tommy can find a ball. Or me.
