[ This entry starts with the sound of shrubbery and a black screen. It goes on for a few more seconds, almost a full minute of it with heartfelt cursing interspersed every odd second or so. Next comes the pneumatic sound of the lift doors opening and closing, and a staticky shake of the feed, catching on the tail end of a low goddamnit.

Lo, an Isaac Lahey appears, looking a bit torn up with his dirty shirt but suspiciously not injured. Like at all. At least he didn't catch any of the scheduled "rains", so he's not muddy along with just dirty. ]

Great. Pocket dialing.

So I just went camping. Also I think I have a literal thorn in my ass, but I fell backwards on a bush, so who knows. I'm back, though?

I didn't see the dinosaur. I did find some pretty flower plants, though, like this one.

[ You guys, pay attention. He's holding wolfsbane. Of the non-deadly variety - thanks, Remus, for pointing the shrubbery out that one time - but still wolfsbane. Oh nooo. ]

My nephew Jeremy's sixteen-- when he's not sulking because I just kicked his butt at Guitar Hero, I think he's pretty cool. Maybe I just have different cool standards.

It's hard work, and sometimes it makes me want to give up on everything and move somewhere tropical and never read a single word again-- but I kind of love it, a lot. So yeah. It's pretty fun.

[ Sometimes Isaac just wants to sit and listen to Jenna talk about pretty much everything, because listening to her is like— well, let's not go there. It's too early in the space-day to think about the things that have been lost for years. ]

You play Guitar Hero? [ Can you hear his hero worship yet? ] Dude.

You should come visit California sometime, when we get back. Take you shore-side, you wouldn't have to go to Hawaii.

Oh, honey. I don't play Guitar Hero-- I win Guitar Hero. [ her grin is audible. ] I might have been something of stoner in my earlier college years-- lots of couch time, lots of bad movies and Cheetos, lots of Guitar Hero.

[ oh thank god he can't see her face, because it falls but good at that. she's careful to try not to let any of that show in her voice, though. ] I'd really like that-- you know I've actually never been to California?
