Hey all, Kirk here.

We've been up here for about a week, ship's time, which probably seems like forever and no time at all for most of you. Trust me when I say that probably won't change much. I know a lot of you are still panicking, but we need to keep in mind that the only way we're going to get out of this situation safely is by staying calm.

Anyone still adjusting to their human body should remember to stop by medical. A week is more than long enough to mess yourself up, even if you know what you're doing. [his tone says, trust me, i've been there.]

If the internal clock is anything to go by, we'll arrive at Tansei Station in about 12 days. I know we don't have much with us, but if you're thinking you need something, you might want to consider what you can barter when we get there. There's no telling when our next chance at shore leave will happen again.

[here, Jim glances away, keying something in, and anyone who expressed interest to Resnik and Ward in their broadcast concerning data collection will get a ping before he goes on.]

I've managed to get the chronometer back online, but she won't give me anything outside of a 24 hour count. [so no stardates or the equivalent thereof.] I've been trying to pull up a map of this place for the passed 78 hours but it's like the damn thing never existed in the first place. I'm starting to wonder if a blueprint was even put in the databanks.

Hey guys, anyone have updates on that theory we had going?
Or an idea of how to get some private communication set up? I don't know about you, but I'm starting to doubt how safe these encryptions are if the computer system is smiling at our resident technopaths.

[Jim pulls the freeze dried food out of the bag and quirks up an eyebrow with an air of distaste. even the convenience stores in Iowa didn't resort to this. how they could possibly have a ship this advanced and have staples like this... he chuckles and pulls open the jerky.]

Could be. I plan on asking the higher ups what to expect when we get there.

Cause... I'm pretty sure I can't make a hamburger out of beef jerky.

[jim groans around a mouthful of jerky and leans back in his chair. he's only half finished swallowing when he speaks.]

Oh god I want a burger.

[apparently he was hungrier than he thought he'd been; he doesn't touch the veggies right away, but that's because he's demolishing that jerky. blue eyes dart sideways and up at her.]

Not half as good when it isn't on a grill, though.

That is a true statement.

I dunno, I'm pretty sure I could improvise something.

You know, I believe that.

[he says this after he swallows, though he's far from done eating, reclining in his seat and regarding the screen he's working on- it's filled with equations and numbers and letters in different windows that probably don't make much sense.]

You better. I'm a boss in the kitchen.

You handle this----I'll be having more fun.

This is totally fun.

[he says, playfully argumentative, but he smiles as he finishes the rest of his jerky.]

But I'm not going to stand in the way of a lady and her art. You'll have to let me know what you whip up.

You and Taylor and Mouse, first on my list.

[She gives a playful little salute, not even noticing that she has, yet again, gone ahead and babbled her schoolmate's real name without permission.]

Maybe Corazon too.

[Who knows why she even bothers making a list, she considers just about everyone she's talked to a friend....]

[Jim doesn't notice, but he's feeling leagues better now. energized again, though he hadn't realized his stomach had been as yawning as it was as he digs into the rest of the food she brought down. he gestures with a piece of freeze dried food.]
