[ when Raven's feed flicks on, she looks just about the same as she did after Guide fed from her, in some ways. which is a roundabout way of saying Really Not Good. she's sitting on the floor in front of one of the benches in the gym, which is where she has her communicator propped up, showing a very feverish, blue girl. well, sort of blue. she's actually caught kind of looking like this under her workout clothes but blonde whatever, a patchwork that doesn't quite sit still, her body making a constant effort to 'fix' itself, her eyes caught between their usual gold and a tinge of blue around the edges. ]

Something's wrong. Was working out, thought I was just stumbling because I'm tired, but I can't- I can't shift either, something's really wrong. [ p a n i c k i n g and ramblinglikecrazy ] This isn't like before, after the jump, I'm fighting this off but it's ruining my control on my mutation.

just come help me, please, please come get me- I'm in the gym on the fifth floor.

[ OOC: forward dated to latelate tonight. NOTE! UH. lemme know if you're not into that. and now! I head for work. replies will be sporadic until I get home <3 ]

[She's blinking. This was definitely not Bon Tempes. This wasn't even close. And what was worse was she needed to feed. But in a place like this? The humans well... they didn't see too keen on the idea. Jessica awkwardly smiled and pulled a long strand of red hair back.]

So, I got this problem, see. I sort'a need somethin' to live, and it ain't really available here, not like home. Well it is, but... I just really need it. [Her eyes go wide for a moment, the idea of blood possessing her. She has to calm herself.]

I ain't exactly sure how to go about it. But it's who I am. Things are just different here, all y'all's worlds are so different. [She looks down for a moment. She'd probably think most of the people out there were lucky. They didn't have to rip someone's throat open to feed. Jess visably cringes.]

I ain't been here long, so some of ya might not even know me. I'm Jessica. [She leaves out the vampire part for now. It wasn't that she wasn't going to admit what she was, but this wasn't like one of those meetings where you stood up, announced your name and what you were.]

Guess this was sort'a pointless.

Good afternoon, Tranquility.

My name is John Watson, I'm one of the doctors working in your medical bay. I've got several things to talk to you about today, all of them important, so I hope you'll stick with me through it.

First off, many of you are aware that a death occurred during the jump. For those of you who have just arrived and aren't familiar with the term, a 'jump' is what happens when the ship is moving rapidly from one part of space to another. We make these once a month and they're believed to be the reason we end up here. I don't know the technical details about it -it's only a theory, really, from other passengers- so don't bother asking.

What I know about it is that your life depends on you being present in the medbay before every jump. The consequences are what happened to the deceased, who was trapped elsewhere in the ship during the jump and became crushed by the acceleration. I'm sorry I have to tell you about that, but I want you to realize that getting into the gravpouches is not optional. You get in one or you die.

[ There's a pause here, which may be for weight or for the fact John needs to collect himself once more. ]

An examination was performed on the deceased by myself and Doctor McCoy. We have done extensive tests and have found no drugs to be present in the system. So Hotspur's broadcast was a lucid one, and no one attempted to drug him to keep him from getting out of that shuttle. The cause of death matches with the expected consequences of a jump on an unprotected body.

We cannot say anything in regards to whether or not this incident was accidental or manufactured, but in respect to the body, there is no evidence of foul play.

If you have any questions about the examination, I'll take them.

Just a reminder now - from now on, we'll be reporting to the medbay an hour before the jump to make sure everyone's present and accounted for. You'll likely be sitting in the locker rooms, though, until we can get everyone sorted.

[ Again, a pause. This one is for a transition. ]

Second order of business is to tell you that medbay is short-staffed. We've got about six people to help about four hundred of you. We're looking for medical professionals that have come in through the jump as well as volunteers. If you'd like to come and help us out at medical, we're willing to train you. We're looking for those interested in full-time, part-time, and emergency volunteers.

I'm going to need all of our current medical staff to cue in to this broadcast, because it will be acting as our interview process.

If you think you're interested, keep listening. If not, this broadcast ends here.

[It has taken him a couple of days to sort himself out, to wrap his head around the idea that there had been a duplicate version of himself here on the ship, a man who was now gone. To also wrap his head around the idea of there being two versions of Alex Summers aboard the ship, as well as Erik who did not have any of Charles' memories and of course, Raven.

Raven, whom he had not seen in over seven months. How, exactly, do you even begin to try to explain all of that, let alone wrap your head around a ship like Tranquility?

It was a hell of a learning curve, that was for certain but now it was time to get out there and get to work.

So he switched on the video, device pointed towards himself where he sat on his bed in the room he now shared with Erik. His smile was polite, perhaps a little more reserved than usual but hopefully welcoming enough.]

Ah, right then, hello.

Some of you may recognize me, as I have been informed that I have most recently been here up until the latest, 'jump' I believe it is known as. My name is Charles Xavier and I am, genetically speaking, the same man who was here before the jump.

However, in the same breath I am not that same man.

For example. [He sets the device back and then stands up from where he had been sitting on his bed. Taking a couple of steps, he turns around, obviously completely ambulatory before coming back to sit down on the bed.] There are also some other differences but those are not important at the moment.

What is important is that I am afraid I do not have any prior memories of this ship or what has occurred during the time my other self was here. [Though Erik had given him access to his communication device to catch up on prior events, though for now Charles kept that bit of information to himself.]

Raven? Alex, Angel and Havok? I know this must be rather confusing but if possible I would very much like a chance to talk with each of you. I am sharing a room with Erik, if you would like to speak face to face. I am uncertain about the level of privacy we can assume across these devices.

In a similar vein, if there is anyone else, who knew me before and would like to speak with me now, I am of course more than willing to make myself available. Though I understand that this might not be the most comfortable set of circumstances.

[After thinking about it for a while, Griffin decides he'll start out on the text setting. If he's here, then they could be too.]

Okay, I'm bored. Ten bucks to the person who gives me their escape pod.

[He's not expecting anything out of this besides some new perspective. If there's one thing he's learned in his many years of travel, it's that locals are always eager to correct a tourist.]
