TEXT | SHERLOCK | CASE OO1

BORED!
Give me work. Give me problems.
My mind rebels against this stagnation.
Give me a puzzle. Or mystery.
Either will do.
Just. Give. Me. Something. To. Solve. Tranquility.
I need the mental stimulation before I result
to drinking the liquid from the grav pouches.

SH.

[ You get another text really shortly after the last one. ]

I would kill everyone of you for a cigarette. SH

( text ) O-OKAY at least you nod...

[ UGH HOW MANY COOL PEOPLE IS HE GOING TO MEET TODAY. ]

wow. so you're a real live astronaut? that's pretty neat. never met one of those before.
out of curiosity, what were you doing in space exactly? we've got all sorts of shuttles and back here, but it's only 2010, and actually i'm not even sure where or when you're from.

( text ) hey. AT LEAST YOU DON'T HIT THINGS. oh wait do you hit things ;__;

[ He has to sort of sit with what Connor asks for a moment. Matter of fact is best, he reminds himself. It doesn't escape him, though, that Connor may be from Earth — his earth — just earlier on. ]

[ If he asks, Capa will clarify, but he won't offer what it means upfront. ]

( text ) yes but they are usually dinosaurs D8 and we'll just pretend you didn't see that...

[identity profile] anomalyse.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Rule number one: Connor always asks. ]

2057 isn't so bad. not a huge way off.
what was the payload? satellite?

( text ) see what I KNOW NOT OF WHAT YOU SPEAK

[identity profile] flares.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Capa...respects that, actually. ]

[ Again, a pause. ]

( text ) EEEEEEEXCELLENT

[identity profile] anomalyse.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
that's for sure. haven't seen anything like it in real life, which is really cool
for someone like me, anyway. i'm pretty keen on this kinda stuff.
i'll be taking a look as soon as i can.

[ ... wait what. ]

hold on -- how the hell did that happen? the sun's not supposed to die for another five billion years. ish.
ballpark estimate.

[ Capa's seen some of his conversations. He can only assume — rightly — that Connor is a scientist. ]

( text )

[identity profile] anomalyse.livejournal.com 2011-12-11 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
compsci originally, but i've sort of... graduated into mechanics and physics. i build a lot of things. [ Unofficial scientist, really. How he knows all of this stuff is up for discussion, but he's pretty resourceful. He wouldn't be Connor if he didn't invent things. ]

q-balls? like in the bosonic particles?
wow. didn't expect those to come up outside of dark matter theory.

[identity profile] anomalyse.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
... nope
not yet. but I will.

[ If he ever gets over the fact that Ward actually looks like a good friend of his, because that is just plain creepy. ]

yeah, that explains the loss of density -- instead of. you know. solar expansion like normal.

[ He's sorry. :/ Dying sun... not the nicest thing ever to happen to humanity. ]

( text )

[identity profile] flares.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
[ Capa knows that on a scale of one to dear-god-why, the sun dying is pretty unavoidably a ten. ]

( text )

[identity profile] anomalyse.livejournal.com 2011-12-12 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
yep. definitely. i can definitely see that.

and for the record, i'm really sorry you've got it so tough.
not that you're alone in that, but. i'll help any way i can.

[ ... And then Connor had an Idea.

He might be able to get you back. No, he knows that if they figure out which universe is which, and how to get there, he can get you back. Get everyone back. He hasn't exactly told anyone about his profession yet, but he's dealt with holes in time and space before; in fact, he was on his way to creating one, creating a manmade anomaly, before he was taken. If he can get the formulas right—if he can pull everything together—he can do this.

Just give him some time.

And a whiteboard.

what, like a [ NERD HERD ] science squad?

vague is good, we like vague
title-wise, i mean
not in the actual meat of the science, because that would be bad. not a good thing.

but i'm for it. scientists anonymous dealing with severe bouts of science or something. when do we meet?
