[Content to remain at matched odds for the moment, Sirius gives back just enough pressure to keep the side up. He also manages to shrug, entirely dismissive of the question.]

My fair share. I don't like to brag. What about you, then?

Usually I had something to prove. Proving it's easier when you win.

( Which was a mixed bag. She won some, she lost some. She won a lot that people didn't expect from her. Maria liked making her point )

This- ( She pushes just a little harder, tipping their arms a bit ) -first for fun. For a while.

[The little surge of strength is-- well, not surprising, precisely, and not unexpected. This is an arm wrestling match, isn't it. But it happens suddenly, and a pleased grin jumps to Sirius' face. So that's how it's going to be, eh.]

[He answers with a little push of pressure of his own, a quick show of strength. 'Cos he's no weakling, thanks.]

How long?

( Closer to eight. She stopped having to prove herself a long time ago, and found better ways if anyone tried challenging that later )

I could be out of practice.

( Only at arm wrestling. There's a lot of other training she does )

Right, but when you say it that way, it sort of suggests that you aren't, actually, out of practice. It's the could. Makes a man think twice.

[And on the last syllable of twice, he leans into her arm, his grip tight. First real bid for the upper hand, as it were.]

( She'd been expecting something, hoping that he'd give the push a try - she just didn't know when. There's a few seconds when her arm's pushed across an inch before she pushes back )

Isn't keeping you on your toes more interesting?

( To figure her out you either need to ask the right questions or be really good. No one just gets it without effort )

Did you arm wrestle with wizards or non-wizards?

[Well, it is, actually, more interesting. And Sirius is always in favour of 'more interesting'. His grin is his answer, a dark flicker across his face. Better than 'more interesting', keeping him on his toes is pretty hot, actually. THat might come across in the little narrow of his eyes.

He keeps his grip where it is, muscle behind his arm. Not letting up.]

Oh, non-wizards. Muggle-borns if anything. Wizards have an aversion to the physical. Why arm wrestle when you can duel?

( Maria lessens a little of the push that she's giving out, letting him push her arm over a little and pretend to try and hold it up. Just for a moment or two )

Why are you different?

( She'll take his answer and then push back - hard )

I'm adaptable.

[His grin widens, when she pushes back--even though it means that he's got to put a little more force into his grip, even though he can feel the inexorable pressure of her hand against his, a force that leans at his whole arm--but again, it's the challenge that he likes; the challenge is brilliant--]

And different. Mostly adaptable. You didn't warn me, y'know.
