[ The device pops on, the screen showing nothing but the fabric of someone's jumpsuit. Muffled sound of sobbing can be heard for a few moments, followed by sniffling, as the person tries to gain some composure.

After a moment they are fumbling with the device in attempt to flip it up towards their face. The sight of a distressed Ariadne can be seen then - looking more like she has been through the wringer then anything, and it's obvious something is wrong with her. She clutches her favorite silk scarf to her chest, wincing in pain before finally speaking. ]

Something's on the ship. [ Screw the filters and encrypting - she doesn’t care - she is scared as hell. ]

[ Chase is not happy at all--the worry shows on her face immediately. Why didn't she know about this? Why wasn't she able to tell?!]

[ a small cough, attempting to mask the pain. ] Chase, you need to stay in your room. Please? [ pain or not, she still isn't above ensuring your safety. ]

[ it takes her a moment to answer that, as she really has to think that over. ] I don't know. I was on my way to the garden.

[ have a look - one more pain stricken then anything, but still one attempting to find her words. ] I don't know - by the gardens maybe.

[ a wince, and she is letting out a small groan. ] I don't know. [ she is sorry she is no honest help with this, but she is still trying to wrap her mind around all of this. ]

[Pretty girl in trouble? It got his attention, though it seemed like she was getting a lot of help from others. There was no sence asking her the same questions over and over, and yet he couldn't help but speak up to the girl who was one of the first to speak to him...]

[a small pause and then sounding a bit more worried...] How badly did it get you?

[He's also glad you told Chase to stay put. As much as he tries to stay away from her he does worry...]

Figure they are. [ she looked up into the device, attempting to muster a small appreciative smile. even if it falls obviously flat, she has to appreciate the lack repetitiveness. ]

I don't know.... [ with that, she is removing the scarf from her chest, letting a glimpse of the wound become visible on the screen. ] It's right up the pain scale -- but I'm still here. [ which almost has her sounding disappointed. ]

Is anyone else hurt? [ because she would rather focus on ensuring the safety of everyone around her. ]

[ she can take the jokes - even if they are a bit odd given the situation, and she actually can't help but giggle slightly at it. it may be a weak giggle, but at least it was there, and she could see the humor in what he was saying. ] I'll be sure to let you know if that happens.

[ a brief smile tugs at the corner of her mouth then, honestly glad for the distraction for just the briefest of moments. ]

Hurts like hell. Right up there with being stabbed to death. [ and sadly, she is dead serious about that. ]

[Rey doesn't sound shocked. She had feelings that it'd only be a matter of time before something like this started happening. Judging by the other replies she's seeing, she's right. But still, it's Ariadne...]

I don't know. [ rey's question has her again looking down at the wound then, closely inspecting it as she does. it's not pleasant looking by any means, but at least it doesn't appear to be life threatening. (or so she hopes) ] I'm still here, so I suppose that is a good thing.

Have you heard anything about this from the others? [ or has anyone else been attacked. details rey - she would like them. ]

[ Kasumi obviously sounds concerned, but she's not any kind of medical professional, so she's got to assume that stuff is covered and turn her mind to what she might be able to help with. ]

I can't be the only one this happened to, can I? [ she sounds more uncertain here then anything. as she wouldn't wish this attack on anyone of course - but still, knowing she wasn't alone in it would be nice. ]
