☩ 008. VIDEO | ACTION
[ Lucrezia is in one of the lounges! Sprawled on one of the sofas, fingers busy turning a pendent of gold in the shape of a sea-horse. There are no poems today, no joyful greetings, something is different. She looks more pensive than anything else but there is a shade of concern there as well as quiet annoyance.
When she speaks, her voice is devoid of any of it. Her eyes still focused on the sea-horse. ]
A riddle, Tranquility.
How to mourn for someone who does not deserve it?
If your duty demands it and you have no desire to - do all men need to be mourned for? Is it a a more grievous sin not to mourn than it is to speak false words of grievance?
[ a beat. ]
Perhaps I must fast again.
[ a moment later she puts down her necklace, smiles. ]
I would have a cup of wine with your answer, if any of you have some to spare. You will join me in the lounge.
[ and it is not a question. ]

[He sits up a little, and for all his protests, he's still grinning. Even if this were something to be irritated over, Lucrezia is too mischievous and charming to actually be irritated with, which it isn't--]
You cheated and you know it, and you have to suffer the consequences!
action
[ and she laughs, raises an eyebrow. ]
What consequences?
action
[He will have none of your challenges, miss. Sirius shakes his head solemnly as he points an accusing finger at her.]
Because I'm nice, I'll give you a choice. You can either owe me a favor, or you can submit to being tickled. Which d'you choose, criminal?
action
[ haughty and smug, she lifts her chin. ]
I will be in your debt, it would seem.
action
[But that's an even better answer anyway, and he grins, already mischievous.]
I won't forget that you owe me. I'm going to write it down. And when I work out who it is that you're so mad over, I'm going to tell him that you don't submit, just so he knows what he's getting into.
action
[ because really, Sirius Black talking to Robb Stark about her is bound to me an admittedly hilarious disaster but still a disaster. ]
action
About you.
action
You will not ask everyone, Nobody knows as it is!
action
Nobody. Really. So the fellow in question doesn't know?
action
You will ask each man on the ship if he is my lover?
action
[He's grinning, but it's a determined grin. This is a new project, a mystery that needs to be solved.]
I don't mind asking everyone. There's a few I can rule out on principle alone, of course--people missing eyes or limbs, small children-- well, it's ask everyone, or else I'll just generally shame him into confessing.

action
[And he's scooting away now, as if he's going to run off and conduct his poll immediately--]
You don't think I will? I will, absolutely I will--I have to know.
action
[ she thinks, SHE THINKS. ]
I will not tell you what I'll tell them, but I shall make a story and they will believe it!
action
[He presents his to her, with a solemn air. There must be a handshake.]
We'll see if they believe your slander. I think they'll be more interested in knowing who Lucrezia's looooovvvver is.
action
[ fine, she'll shake it. ]
I'll win, Sirius Black, and you will be in my debt!
action
We'll see about that!
[And now he pulls his hand away all at once, and scrambles to his feet--and bows, sweepingly, because he's got manners!--and then he's off to ruin your life. Or improve it. Whichever!]
