Kirk of the former Starship Enterprise. he's dressed in the regulation blacks, and honestly, doesn't look all that impressive, but you might recognize him from running all over the ship in the last few days. if he hasn't been playing tour guide and meeting-and-greeting, then he's been on his communication device trying to figure things out.

despite the recent stress in the environment, he looks remarkably rested, unlike the first time he made a transmission.

To everyone who's joined us, welcome to The Tranquility, your new home away from home. To everyone joining us from the first time around, congratulations on your first successful jump.

[he won't mention the unsuccessful, but he's fairly certain he doesn't need to.]

I'm sure everyone's still got questions and we'll be happy to answer anything we can. Though before anyone asks, we're still working on that map, and we should have it out to you guys hopefully within the next few days.

In the meantime, anyone used to space travel or with skills you think might assist us, I encourage you to speak up. This is a big boat and we need all the help we can get, since we're the working crew now. Medical and the Oxygen Gardens are hurting for help, so I'm sure they'd love to see you down there.

Otherwise, passenger quarters are on the top deck and you'll find the pools and the holodecks that way.

In light of recent events I think it's a good idea for us to set up a network of information sharing for efficiency's sake. We've all got our specialties and people we trust, and I think it'll be better to know who's who in the event we want to keep something quiet, or new information crops up that we want to keep between us. That being said, if you guys want me to add anyone to this filter, let me know.

It was brought up that some of us might not know where to go in certain situations, so I was thinking it might be a good idea to set up an umbrella command. It seems like the idea was tossed once Ward and Resnik showed up, but lets face it, the only backs we've got are each other's.

I'd like to hear all your thoughts on the matter.

I agree with the idea that we should make some sort of system for sharing information. We should have something that's easily accessible to others on the crew too, like paper documents of some sort.

Usually, I'm more comfortable working outside a chain of command, and I don't think I'm the only one. But in this case, it might be for the best. There are too many of us. Without a bit of structure, we're all going to be pulling in different directions.

You could consider a council instead of a chain of command. Several people that have different backgrounds that people can trust... or something. Um... it gives people a choice, I suppose? Not all the pressure will rest on one person also.

If we can split people into groups to work on their specialties it will reduce confusion. These groups can compile their findings to a smaller source, thus keeping information tidy and easier to transfer between faculties. It'll also mean people will have someone to go to with concerns. For example, if someone has an issue with something scientific, they'll know they can go to Spock, even if they don't know who else is working on the project with them. Or they can go to Dean regarding security issues, even if they don't have the roster of who else is on the detail.
