[The post begins with a direwolf, peering with sharp curiosity into the device. It is a short video; it lasts only for about a minute, just long enough to take in the sheer size of the direwolf--large enough to fill the frame until he shifts to sniff at the device, and then you can see that he's very large indeed, and not only because of the perspective. But he's friendly-looking, for a wolf, ears pricked, eyes bright--and then the video ends.]

This is a direwolf, called Summer. There are six direwolves aboard this ship, and they are all of House Stark. They are not a threat to anyone save to those that might mean threat to the Starks. They are not pets and they are not tame, but they are not wild either. They will not bite you without reason. If they cause some mischief, you need only inform any of my House, and we will make right whatever they have wronged.

People are often afraid of direwolves. You need not fear any of our six. You may be wary but do not attack or provoke them and they will do you no harm. They are rarely apart from us so there should be no reason to do so. But I thought it should be said, as there are new people aboard this ship.

I am Bran of House Stark, and by my word, Summer will not harm you. If you would like to meet Summer, you may.

[SO THERE. And Bran might end there, all that having been said, but... a few seconds later, and he adds:]

I have some questions, too. I am looking for someone that might perform a wedding. And I am looking for people that might know of [--and this is more delicate to say--] transformations.

There is food for dogs that they sometimes eat. There is meat for them to eat. There are insects in the Gardens that they eat but they only catch them for fun.

Wolves do not have religions I think.

[He is trying to write all replies--it is easier, and less tiring--but it would be discourteous to answer a lady in such a way. And she is a lady, he can tell as much, so he makes his reply by voice instead--an effort at proper manners, for all that it comes out very quiet.]

If I hadn't said six then someone might have hurt her because they would not think her of our House.

I am not getting married. I am only asking because there are many people now aboard this ship and someone might want to be wed. We have people who perform many tasks and I wondered if there were people who blessed marriages too.

There is only one Summer. And there are only six direwolves aboard this ship. Even in Westeros, direwolves are very rare. So you can't have one.

[When Bran goes to switch the settings of his device to make sure it is more private, he finds that it has already been done. Or he thinks it has, anyway; he is not so good with the devices that he can tell so quickly.]

People who can change to other things. People who can be different things. I have been told that there are some people like that aboard this ship and I was interested.

[He is trying to take care with his responses, to respond in writing--if only because it is easier to do so--but to hear the name of the Starks spoken so easily (familiarly, maybe) is surprising. Are there more people of Westeros here?

So he answers by voice, at least--cautious, but courteous all the same.]

There are many of House Stark. [A little pause, and still more cautiously, he adds:] What assurance do you mean?

[okay Robb can get a non text reply, brothers get that honor.]

Some of them, but not all, and not complete answers. [He pauses a moment, trying to remember how to pronounce this new weird word--] Robb, do you know what an-- innockulation is?

Bran is pleased to see Frodo Baggins--so pleased that he allows him an answer by voice, too. He sounds a little tired, perhaps, but cheerful enough.]

I don't know if there will be a wedding, for true. But I thought we should know, in case anyone wanted to be married. And it is interesting to hear of different customs from the other worlds.
