[The post begins with a direwolf, peering with sharp curiosity into the device. It is a short video; it lasts only for about a minute, just long enough to take in the sheer size of the direwolf--large enough to fill the frame until he shifts to sniff at the device, and then you can see that he's very large indeed, and not only because of the perspective. But he's friendly-looking, for a wolf, ears pricked, eyes bright--and then the video ends.]

This is a direwolf, called Summer. There are six direwolves aboard this ship, and they are all of House Stark. They are not a threat to anyone save to those that might mean threat to the Starks. They are not pets and they are not tame, but they are not wild either. They will not bite you without reason. If they cause some mischief, you need only inform any of my House, and we will make right whatever they have wronged.

People are often afraid of direwolves. You need not fear any of our six. You may be wary but do not attack or provoke them and they will do you no harm. They are rarely apart from us so there should be no reason to do so. But I thought it should be said, as there are new people aboard this ship.

I am Bran of House Stark, and by my word, Summer will not harm you. If you would like to meet Summer, you may.

[SO THERE. And Bran might end there, all that having been said, but... a few seconds later, and he adds:]

I have some questions, too. I am looking for someone that might perform a wedding. And I am looking for people that might know of [--and this is more delicate to say--] transformations.

What of the monsters that were discovered here? Could you become one of them?

i don't think so, since they were part human. but i never really wanted to try.

But perhaps you could have turned them away from people. You could have helped them. If you had tried what would have happened, since they were partly human? Would nothing have happened at all?

[ Jaye doesn't have many morals about trying to get information out of Bran, as sad as it is. Robb had asked her to look out for them and she knows Alayne would like the same. This could be important. And so... ]

sansa had mentioned something about wargs, in your world

[ Because she knows that secret, if not his. ]

[He knows he should answer straightaway; he knows he will be more obvious if he lingers over that statement--and so he only pauses a moment, and hurries himself to reply:]

Yes. She was correct. There are wargs in Westeros, and I was thinking of them and their differences. They are not as werewolves are, or as you are. If a warg were to come here, he would be confused.

that's pretty usual around here. people being confused, that is

Yes but

[He pauses a moment before he continues in that thought, thinking carefully.]

If a warg were confused it might be more dangerous. He might make a mistake only because he didn't know. So I will collect information, and that will not happen.

what do you mean?

[A longer pause, this time, because this is more difficult to work out how to say safely.]

If a warg came to this ship and tried to become a creature like the ones that we found, that would be a mistake. Or if he tried to become a creature in a dream, like the dreams everyone had before. That would be a mistake. But he might be trying to help. He would not know that these were mistakes.

yeah but how would you knowing help that warg? unless they let you know they were a warg

I know a warg. So now I can tell him of all of this. And he will be more careful.
