[ Hello, have your new 010 » 111 pop up on the network. The video turns on to show someone obviously in their room. He's sitting on the bed and he has the comm resting in his hands on his lap, it's facing him -- even if it's a little off center. His fingers run over the buttons on the device and he clears his throat, ready to speak at the indication that the video is recording.
And yet, the video is upside down. ]
Just a friendly reminder to whoever is in charge that, if you are in fact going to abduct someone from their work and home into outer space -- you might want to reconsider picking a blind man. For one, stars? Completely wasted on me.
[ A slight quirk of his lips up at that. ]
And to... any friendly listeners out there, a brief rundown of this place from someone who isn't a native would be exceptional. I'm sure there's a welcome sign around here but, well, [ He tilts his head just a bit and shrugs lightly. ]
I think that covers it. Nice to meet you, I'm sure you're all very pretty.
[ And then he grins and hangs up. ]

That would be an amazing thing to get my hands on, really.
[ Though it's not like he can... actually go find it himself. So, if you're not going to help-- ]
voice;
Yeah, I'm hunting for it now, hang on...
[There's a pause while he searches back through his device... then sends over Bruce's thingmabob hopefully it makes some kind of sound?]
video;
[ Well, that's part one down. As for the next-- ]
... And the guide?
voice;
[He sends that along too]
I'm Blake, by the way. John Blake.
video;
[ And sorry, John, give him a moment to listen. He was just going to make a joke about the tattoo but then the color drains from his face when he hits one point in the guide. ]
... The layout changes?
[ That is... bad. Very bad. How's he supposed to get around when he can't see and the layout of the ship changes at a moment's notice? He finishes listening to everything as quick as possible but that's the one thing that sticks. ]
voice;
video;
If it ever does change, I know who to blame first then.
[ A slight grin but yeah, that kind of freaks him out. ]
So, Earth, huh? Not a thing anymore, I'm assuming.
voice;
[He feels pretty bad for this guy. Sort of the same way he feels bad for all the kids stuck here, or the people from medieval times who can't read. Okay so maybe it's pity.]
I don't know. I figure it's still out there somewhere. We just have to find a way back to it.
video;
[ Don't you pity him, you!!! He's a SPY and could probably take you in a fight with his eyes closed-- oh wait. ]
Hey, question. You seem like a capable guy, so I'll ask you. Do you know any... it mentioned jobs here, right? I'm good at computers and I came with my equipment so I could probably help if anyone needs it.
video;
Jobs, yeah. Computer skills, maybe something in the communications or science department. In my experience, if you can just track someone down, they'll probably take you. There's a lot of work that needs to be done on a ship this size. Most of it isn't even in proper working order, from what I understand, so people with computer skills are very useful.
video;
Fantastic. Well, at least I know what I'm doing. Won't be the same work I do at home, probably, but satisfying enough. Thanks, John.

I'll let you go then. Bye now.
