[ The screen flickers for the briefest moment before Gwen appears in the image. Her blonde hair is tied into a ponytail, she's got her labcoat on, and the lights are ... well, clearly on emergency mode.

She is half-worried the message won't go through the way some of the texts on the network haven't been working too well (which was part of the reason she opted for video, besides providing a face to an important message) but it seems to settle itself. And the light is strong enough that the image of her shouldn't be too dark.

In her best professional voice: ]

Hi. My name is Gwen Stacy and I'm part of the Xenobiology and Genetics Department on this ship. On behalf of the department, I just wanted to let everyone know that due to both recent events and previously disappearing laboratory floors, the Xenogen labs are closed until further notice.

If anyone still needs a member of the department for anything, we will be available.

And if anyone has any questions, let us know. Thank you for your understanding.

[ It's short and to the point. And once Gwen finishes, polite smile and all, the screen goes blank. ]

[ ooc: sooo ... just a note that this doesn't actually block anyone from going to the labs if they really want to. ]

Miles Edgeworth

[ Edgeworth's voice sounds urgent. ]

Good day. This is Miles Edgeworth with Security.

As you have most likely noticed, there are currently power outages plaguing parts of the ship. First, please do not panic; there have been issues with the ship's power in the past, and they have been resolved. To this point, life support appears to be unaffected, and our competent colleagues in the Engineering department are working on a solution as we speak.

However, I must urge caution. Incidents like this are not infrequently preludes to other, more dangerous occurrences. Please take any alteration in the state of the ship as a reason to be more careful. When you go out, please do so in pairs. Do not venture beyond the borders of what Security has established as safe territory. Do not take any risks. Anything mysterious and unexplained, please take note of and report it to others; if you wish to investigate, some back with someone else to assist you. And always keep your eye on the time; always be back in time for the Jump.

[ A little sigh, and then, a touch less intensely - ]

Now. If anyone has seen or experienced anything particularly curious, please take this as an opportunity to share it with others. Let's get ahead of whatever is coming.

Looks like someone forgot to pay their electric bill.

[Nick looks only mildly amused. He's actually had that happen, and it's not so fun, but someone's already said that they're working on it, so....]

There's way too much crappy art on board this thing, and not enough crappy artists showing themselves. I'm getting a little bored of chasing ghosts.

['Unnerved' would probably be a better word, not that he'll admit it.]

So if anyone's got a deck of cards or some dice, let's get something going. We don't even have to gamble, not unless you're willing to take a silver filling for payment.

Hi, I'm Annie Sawyer with-

Well, not with anyone, really, I just was hoping that someone could just, if you could, if you have a bit of extra rope, and maybe something heavy that you're not using, I would be very happy to take it off your hands.

And also, be careful, of course.

Mostly, please be careful.

Oh, also, does anyone know, if we lose powers, do doors still lock?

"RYUUZAKI" (L - Death Note)
27 October 2014 @ 11:29 pm
This is Ryuuzaki ▒n Communications.

[Indeed, it is, and his calm tone hides infinite irritation and exasperation. It's been a week of long days with very little concrete progress. The department's equipment appears to be fine if they check connections and run diagnostics, but it's been extremely uncooperative nonetheless.]

We're aware of the problems everyone ▓▓s been having for the last week or so. Initial investigations suggested ▓░░t part of the problem might be with individual communicators, but that isn't ▒░░ case. The main issue now appears to be in the network its▓▒f. We'll continue to work on it.

Until full functionality is restored, your communi░░tion devices should be considered less reliable than usual. Recording your message and sending it multiple ▓imes may help a complete version get through, but it would be better not to get into tr▓▓▒░e to begin with.

We'll let you know when things are ░ack to normal.

In the meantime, back to work.

[OOC: He's not kidding about that work! Responses, if necessary, may come from Bail Organa or even elsewhere.]
