[he knows he can't stop anyone from going, which is fifty percent of the reason he makes this a public broadcast instead of filtered. his transmissions starts with a file transfer. it comes with a photo pulled of the subnetwork, and detailing how to get to the start of the maze, located next to the Oxygen Garden. he'd rather people be informed than go wandering about, after all.]

Alright people, whatever we've caught is lethal. We need people in fit condition [or as close to it] to be assisting in the search. Anyone heading into the maze, do not go alone, do not go unarmed, and be careful.

Enterprise, we leave at 16:00 hours.

[ooc; feel free to use this post as IC coordination for heading into the maze/forming groups if you want! also this is pinging anyone Jim might not have talked to about going into the maze with him, ie: Asato, Godric, Todd, Jane Sheppard, Jack, etc.]

But cautiously. I don't advocate for a moment just standing around doing nothing, but...What even are the odds that this will lead to a cure? Some shadowy, anonymous figure sends us texts saying that the cure for this illness - which we still don't know the cause of - is sitting at the end of some maze. And now we're all willing to risk our lives on something that might well just be a trap.

They did that when we were sitting still. The conditions are worsening and even I begin to feel fainter, though I am already faint.
We do not have enough time, and while I know little, I do know that much.

It doesn't look like we have many other options.

...Which is why I don't advocate doing nothing - and nor would I. But cures for diseases are typically found in a laboratory, not at the end of a maze - and even if that were true, running off with no preparation, planning, or caution can only end in disaster.

Not everyone is going into the maze. There are those that are in the medical room doing whatever they can to stop the ailments, but others are doing what they feel as best, also. We have better chances if there's more than one way.

...I know. It just - I do not hold to such idiocy as "gut feelings" or anything of the like, but...This just seems - wrong.
