( 04 ) text ♧ go ask alice i think she'll know
[ solitude is an easy leap for a guy who likes to throw around dostoyevsky quotes like it ain't no thing, and men who go looking for secrets often find them. as such: have the very first non-video caffrey post, tranquility. fuck smiling, this shit ain't right. ]
"Try not to die".
This ship really is the most user friendly around, isn't it? And helpful.
Anyone who isn't used to computers, ask Tony Stark what I mean.
[ he'd say he's sorry, tony... but he isn't. ]

Normally I'd make an English lesson out of this one, but forget it. "Solitude" is the password you want, if you like feeling special, not to mention uncomfortably singled out.
I don't know about the rest of you, but this is a list I could stand not to be on-- and I don't feel particularly giving, especially not towards our smiling friend.
Any thoughts from the other esteemed honorees?

I need a word. And you two need better PR, so let's help each other out here.

I'm flattered, but I like to exchange names before I commit to anything. How about a quick sitdown? Strictly off the record.

Right now, I don't think it matters what kind of list it is. But you're right, I'd guess it isn't complete either.

[Moving le on.]
It's not like we're gonna find out either way until Smiley feels chatty again. It's like we've got the cheat codes, but the game's not even released yet.

And that might actually be the point. [ considering inhale. ] One of the points. Speaking as a fan of code myself, if there's only one motivation here I'll actually wear one of those godawful jumpsuits.

I'll tell you what the main point is- getting us all worked up, which BTW is a success.

Exactly. Either it's bored or we somehow touched a nerve or a combination of both-- but this was more about response than intimidation.
voice; 75% Unhackable
If it was about intimidation, it would have put little, tiny check marks by half the names. I mean, hypothetically- not that I ever... think about things like this- but visceral reaction, actual... fear-response comes from not knowing the why. If your brain can't process something, the only reaction is fear. You put a name on a list- it could be anything. You put a name and imply something has already been done to people on the list? That's what starts a panic situation.
voice; 75% Unhackable
True. The more disturbing thought is the long [ a brief pause here, 'con' nearly escaping his lips. ] View. If you leave people a list with no key, they'll start speculating on why. I'd rather not handle people who start to wonder if maybe the people on that list know more than they should.
voice; 75% Unhackable
Don't you? Not accusing. But there's some people on that list who have some knowledge we don't all have. The blue guy- says he's got information on how the ship works. Hotspur? He's been fixing the shuttles. I'm not saying it applies to everyone, but a lot of these people have initiative. Initiative gets you information.

Truth? [ catching a verbal pattern here, topher? ] Not for lack of trying, but all I've done is find more and more silver rooms without anything interesting in them.
voice; 75% Unhackable
[Yes, he did.] You keep saying that word. I think it means exactly what you think it means- truth is key. That's the other thing initiative and information gets. When you get down to the bottom of things, usually the first to go in a conspiracy or the ones who came too close to uncovering the truth. [He's mostly just babbling to himself now, but loudly.]
