[ tony, unlike some people, likes observing individuals first before he says anything. there's nothing like making a fantastic entrance because you know what's going on while other people don't. it makes you look smart. technically tony supposes he doesn't need any help in that department, but it never hurts to be the observer first. right now he's a little annoyed because no one is actually being helpful in the way he wants them to be. everyone has forced his hand into asking a question, just to make sure he's not going end up writing them down wrong on his IDIOTS TRAPPED WITH ME ON THIS SHIP list. and yes, he's going to write it down and no, you cannot see it. ]

Show of hands or text or whatever, how many of you have some sort of specialty back home? Those of you who raised your hand, you should share with class what that is. I'd like to not hear about the things that are completely useless, but I know some of you will tell me then anyway. This is just a general survey question before I ask the real one, because I'm just one of those curious types.

The real question, by the way, was how many of you are planning on looking around the ship, you know alone. Or...with a buddy, if you're that inclined to do that.

Already gone exploring. Took a while, though. There's miles worth of decks here, and the tubes don't go to all of them.

Well, I'm a tall ship, so I have a good knowledge and experience in everything relevant to sailing.
I'm also a schoolship, and I've taught people to sail for... decades. I'm 97.
I also have a good scientific knowledge, but I'm afraid I don't have the one relevant to sailing in space. Only on the sea. Also, I learn very fast and I can use a brain when needed.
This, unfortunately, isn't enough for our crew to find anything useful, and I'm afraid I would tend to agree.

I'm also planning on looking around, even as I'm getting busy helping people here and there. Anyone can join me, and I'm willing to join any groups.

Energy-transference engineering. Large-scale, not small, but I can do both if I have to.

Ran an entire facility, once. Basically robot god, in charge of the whole place. Pretty much the most important job.

And, uh. Exploring the ship sort of implies a knowledge of, ah, legs, and how to--to go about using them. Which is still a work in progress. For me.

I'm an engineer. Generally electrical and primarily design, but I have some experience in other fields. I don't know if it lives up to spaceship standards, but if anyone's communicator breaks I can take a look.

...so this entire thing is actually up your alley. aren't you lucky. how long has it been since you had that training and the ph.d. for that matter. the running around exploring alone, with a buddy, or in general? not everyone likes to do "advisable" things.

My apologies, I'm not very good with typing yet.

I was formerly the logic circuit of the spacecraft Discovery One, so I would like to believe I have some idea of how the automated functions of this ship might work. Once I am learn to sufficiently use my hands, I would like to think that I will be of some assistance when it comes to repairing or modifying some of the technical aspects of the ship.

I am also very interested in exploring, but I haven't been inclined to go on my own.

The entire ship or just a bit of it? Since considering there's...miles of decks, I find it slightly doubtful that you managed to get to everything, not get lost and all that jazz.

How advanced were they?
