Let's do a vote. Show of hands. How many of you think we're all alone here? A whole planet of pretty woods, jut for us. And how many of you think that we can't be alone. Maybe there's some city out there. Too bad you can't leave the camp.

And how many of you think that we're, like, totally surrounded. I hear that's a thing. Because there's spears, and they're stealing from us. Blah, blah. Tell me something real. If there's someone out there? I'd like to get to them first. I'd like to think everyone would agree with me, but I'm sure I'd be wrong.

Actually, you know what I'd love? I'd love for them to come by and try to get at my stuff. Consider this an invitation.

Between the bones in some caves and the spears you just mentioned yourself, who the hell in the right mind would still consider that we're alone in this place? Of course there is someone out there. Those animals didn't stab themselves.

The real question is what are we going to do.

Well, can think of two immediate things that we can do.

One is that we attempt to stretch our tether to the ship without collapsing from cerebral hemorrhaging.

Have spoken about this with someone before but, alternatively, we could set up traps and alarms around the perimeter. Catch one of those assholes before they manage to weasel into the camp.

Better than waiting for someone else to get stabbed in the next commotion.

As for the inhabitants, I think history suggests we assume they're hostile unless proven otherwise.

Whoever they are? They're terrible hunters. Anyone decent wouldn't waste spears, or let their meat get away.

Anyway, they haven't attacked us yet. How hostile can they be?

Even before the spears and such started turning up, the planet's habitable. No reason to think people wouldn't have decided to habit it at some point. Humans have terraformed crummier planets. Now we're finding tools we sure didn't make.

I guess that would just get rid of the stupid ones. But it'd be a start.
