[ Hey, Tranquility! It's your resident busybody who has no authority or jurisdiction, and no justifiable reason to be taking point on this one, here to kindly inform you he's decided to try and take point on this one. He appears solemnly, wearing that well-perfected dangerous hunter face. How scary. Such intimidating. ]
I'm gonna make this quick and to the point.
[ He declares, voice barking out frank orders like a damn drill sergeant or something. ]
Those people on board- those are people. Not some... evil... dictatorship, not a bunch of spies from the goddamn dark world, not soul-sucking ringwraiths here to steal your jumpsuits. They're just people, and they need a rescue, not a lynch mob.
[ Have a firm and pointed look, because he knows some of you are planning on shooting first and asking questions later. Screw that. ]
I'm going. Anyone who wants to come along and help, I'm leaving in an hour. And before you sign up just to turn around and put a bullet in them as soon as we get there, I want to make one thing clear.
[ And let the cold, dark look in his eye carry just how serious he is about this: ]
You try anything stupid, I'll knock your ass out myself and leave you in the hallways for whatever's hungry.
[ end transmission. ]
( after 1 IC hour (so a few tags) Dean will abruptly stop replying and will be focusing on surviving the hallways. anyone is more than welcome to tag along to his big ole rescue group of friendship and mistake-making! )

[Then he remembers that he might not be that memorable.]
John Kennex, Christmas party. I spilled my drink on you.
[Good times amirite. He's gathering up supplies from his room, including his gun, as he speaks.]
I want in. I'm a cop. I'm not letting any assholes try and kill them.
video;
Normally, 'seems like a decent guy' wouldn't be enough, but the fact that Kennex is a cop... well, maybe he's a little biased towards his own cop buddy, but it helps make Dean's decision easier.
He nods. ]
Alright, good enough for me.
[ He declares. ]
We're meeting up on ten in about an hour. Grab some supplies from Tyke on one, bring whatever you think you can carry.

Name's Davis. [ With a nod, greeting, without pausing in his work. ] Sergeant, U.S. Army. I don't think we've met.
You want a hand getting people in and out of there safely, I'm with you. Been here sixteen jumps, and on a few recon missions in the hallways besides.

Recon missions.
[ He echoes seriously, brow furrowing in keen interest. ]
Can I take that to mean you're gonna be any good helping sherpa us to mount shuttle bay?
[ Because this place is huge, people get lost in the halls just routinely sometimes. Searching for a new area is gonna be a bitch and a half in a ship the size of freakin' New York or something. He's willing to forgo a little personal experience and trust if it means getting a semi-reliable navigator, especially with so many familiar faces he can rely on joining in. ]

[Gogo voice is dry but amused, though she isn't looking at her comm. She's in the SEC office, swinging one of those ready-made supply bags over her shoulders. She's also wearing...a bright yellow chest piece? And bright yellow gloves? Well, at least she'll be easy to spot.]
You got room for one more in your rescue party?
It's gonna be dangerous out there. You sure you're up for it?

[ There's a note of amusement in his voice that suggests that yes, he knows he's exactly the kind of guy to do something like that.
But he appreciates the concern. Don't worry, he's not about to trust them as far as he can throw them. You don't gotta trust someone to want to save them. ]

Stay in contact. I'll still hear you and your brother.

[ Not that praying to Cas is gonna do much good anymore what with him being on his last leg, but. You know. He'll agree to that just the same if it eases the angel's mind. ]

Agreed. Try to bring back as many as you can.
[You can't interrogate dead people, and they're no good as leverage, and their deaths may cause greater trouble down the road... but this is not his outward motivation, and besides, he really does believe that they should save who they can feasibly save.]
[voice]
Or, you know, use way more screwed up means than a simple question and answer session. ]
You got it.
[ He agrees seriously, darkly, succinctly. Then abruptly disconnects; businessmode. ]
