Now that it seems the halls are no longer full of sleepwalkers engaging in bloodsport... it seems like many of the people who have joined departments had occupations or skills from home that made one a natural fit over the others. Did anyone pick up something entirely from scratch?

It hasn't been easy, but I've found most to be accommodating.

I joined flight with absolutely no relevant knowledge or experience.

Better than I expected, certainly. Besides the medical leave, obviously - also better than I might've thought. All things considered.

I was thinking of flight myself, but I suspect it might be misplaced nostalgia for my car.

Some more than others, but nothing for which I have translatable skills, especially. I don't mind learning something new, but I don't fancy being underfoot.

Eating tacks would be more useful and more fun than working at one of these jobs here. But that's just me.

There's all kinds of entertainment, you just have to look for it. And none of it is on someone else's schedule, or pretending to contribute to a ship that hates us anyways.
