I can speak only from experience. But the darkest I have heard is that my brothers were gone and the whole knew not where.

He would be much safer if I will not. My anger for him is without boundaries, my love. he had promised not to keep secrets from me, he had swore. there is one matter he keeps hidden from me, a burden he refuses to share and he has promised it to be his only secret. Now I find that he has lied to the sister he swore to love above all.

I have never heard even a whisper of such a burden pass from his lips. ( perhaps it is the fact that he is not a cardinal any longer. but that, in all honesty is absolutely none of her business to tell. even is she cannot understand why he would keep mum about such a thing.

There really isn't any difference, despite waht people might say. Lying is lying.
But a white lie is something someone tells that's supposed to be a "harmless" lie
usually to try and protect someone's feelings

are both, dark as white, destined to come to light and eventually be discovered? if so, you must be right, it cannot make any difference. the person whose emotions are protected would discover the truth and be twice offended.

There's such a thing as being too honest, and nobody ever shares their full and unfiltered opinions about absolutely everything, absolutely all of the time. Sometimes you're gentle with people because it's what they need in that moment. Those times when being honest would be for your personal satisfaction and serve no purpose other than to belittle someone else.

they're basically supposed to be harmless lies, usually because telling the truth might be awkward.

a white lie would be like going shopping and not telling your best friend because you know she doesn't have the money to spend, so you not inviting her saves her money and feeling sad about saying no

a worse lie is like, telling someone you're studying and you can't hang out with them, but actually you're going to a bar or something with someone else

basically white lies are supposed to keep people's feelings from getting hurt

It seems to be that a white lie is one made to keep another from harm. No malice in it, or so people tell me.

My best friend lied to me once to protect me from knowledge that might make me vulnerable. When I found out about it I was a little irritated but now I know it's a good thing he did it. He was trying to protect me. That's a white lie.

White lies are sometimes meant to be kind. For example - if someone who is having a bad day asks me if they look well, I might say something nice to encourage them even if I think they look fatigued.

Dark lies are usually malicious and meant to hide important information or hurt another.
