[for anyone who has had the pleasure of being around stiles in the last couple months, he's suddenly looking far better. less panicky, less wan, and perhaps a bit more determined as well.

for anyone who is particularly familiar with stiles as a person (and considering how out of sorts he's been since being brought to the tranquility, that's really only going to be the people he knows from back home) they'll know that a determined stiles is almost always a dangerous one.]

So it's good to hear that at least some of us aren't willing to just lay down and accept our abduction without a little bit of a fight. [a little fiercely] I for one am through with letting myself be manipulated or toyed with by our mysterious evil overlords.

I wasn't in the hallways when everyone started disappearing last month, mostly because I had just come back from being lost in the hallways. But I saw a brief mention of paintings in the latest recon report and I thought I should share with anyone who was interested to know the details of the mural I came across while I was wandering in the hallways.

Y'know, just in case it helps with any part of the deeper mystery of this place.

[he moves away from the comm for a moment now before coming back with a rough sketch (he's no artist like lydia) to show everyone: a blocky figure standing firmly, with a thin neck that seems to support nineteen heads, each with sharp red eyes. he keeps the image in view for a beat before setting it aside.]

Not sure what it means, apart from being super trippy, but it never hurts to have all the information, right?

[he pauses, considering, before continuing with a slightly more forcefully upbeat tone.] And I guess on a completely different note, anybody here a psychologist, or have any sort of experience in that kind of capacity?

It might. But even if it doesn't— there's a general vein with things around this universe or world. It's Greek. It's why I asked you if you were trying to draw a Hydra. And you can argue that pictures should be universal. At least to a point.

[ she frowns before rubbing her neck. ] It's not stupid. Depending on who they thought would see it. Before any of us were here, two people from this universe if the ship thought they were the ones who were going to see it, then they'd know what it means. Because honestly, considering the fact that everyone from this universe has said this ship was lost for decades, if this ship is actually sentient, it had to assume that whoever would see that would completely understand it.

[ a pause. ] You do realize if you're going to go look up symbology, you're not getting to do that alone. Two heads are better than one.

Greek, huh? Well that is interesting. Is it a sort of direct translation approach, or more of a "slacker school kid who's not really paying attention and actually mixing up a bit of Rome and maybe even Persia in too" kind of way?

Depends on the way you look at it. Definite— borrowing as far as naming things go, Smiley likes his myths. Considering these guys are human— as far as we can tell— the borrowing at least makes sense. Why not use the great civilizations when colonizing space.

Good. And— for the record, I'm not afraid to drag us out if we need sleep.

[yeah well, them and their overcautiousness can bite him, basically.]

The ship is definitely built with the general size and shape of humans in mind, that's for sure. And the media available on the ship... [he shrugs. human. even if their aesthetic is pretty strange from everything he's seen so far.]

Human, but something out of a bad science fiction novel or movie? Yeah, I try not to think about it too much. [ don't ask her about that one time she got really sad and used to watch space soap operas. it was very very embarrassing. ]

I'd like to call us personal myth breakers and keepers of Beacon Hills but that might make everyone jealous. [ she could try and act like she's more ashamed about that sentence but she really isn't. ] Have you checked on getting it refilled?

[ a pause. ] Not so you can pill pop.

Who cares if they get jealous, that's totally our title. They can get their own.

[stiles nods his head at her question and sort of, gestures down at the comm in his hand.] I'm looking into it, no worries. I don't want to deal with me off of Adderall any more than any of you want to deal with me off of it.

And marvel at how it will never compare to us. You know what, I'll consider that acceptable enough.

[ lydia opens her mouth like she's going to say something before pausing, shutting it and opening it once again to speak. ] That's not— whatever. You want to meet me there and start researching after you're done talking to everyone else? Or wait until you've actually got the Adderall refilled.

[whoops, awkward.]

We can start now while I've got lines cast. I think everything is disjointed enough still at this point that I can just jump from topic to topic without it being too much of a problem.

In that case, meet me in the lab and we'll walk and talk before we start researching. We can make a plan of attack. Sound okay?

[ that's a question that sounds more rhetorical than anything else but minor detail. ]
