[for anyone who has had the pleasure of being around stiles in the last couple months, he's suddenly looking far better. less panicky, less wan, and perhaps a bit more determined as well.

for anyone who is particularly familiar with stiles as a person (and considering how out of sorts he's been since being brought to the tranquility, that's really only going to be the people he knows from back home) they'll know that a determined stiles is almost always a dangerous one.]

So it's good to hear that at least some of us aren't willing to just lay down and accept our abduction without a little bit of a fight. [a little fiercely] I for one am through with letting myself be manipulated or toyed with by our mysterious evil overlords.

I wasn't in the hallways when everyone started disappearing last month, mostly because I had just come back from being lost in the hallways. But I saw a brief mention of paintings in the latest recon report and I thought I should share with anyone who was interested to know the details of the mural I came across while I was wandering in the hallways.

Y'know, just in case it helps with any part of the deeper mystery of this place.

[he moves away from the comm for a moment now before coming back with a rough sketch (he's no artist like lydia) to show everyone: a blocky figure standing firmly, with a thin neck that seems to support nineteen heads, each with sharp red eyes. he keeps the image in view for a beat before setting it aside.]

Not sure what it means, apart from being super trippy, but it never hurts to have all the information, right?

[he pauses, considering, before continuing with a slightly more forcefully upbeat tone.] And I guess on a completely different note, anybody here a psychologist, or have any sort of experience in that kind of capacity?

Sounds like the last psychologist we had up here left shortly before I got here, and another one hasn't popped up yet, sooooo...

[he shrugs, mouth curved wryly. a very 'what can you do' expression.]

[ she clears her throat at that. poor jenna. ]

Right, well, I know next to nothing about psychology, but I can look into the current medical staff's skillsets, in case someone with a bit of know-how missed this broadcast, [ hard to, with the red-eyed beastie drawing, but nevertheless worth a try. ] and check if anyone's left behind relevant textbooks or the like in the library. [ she hesitates. ] And I can chat with you more, if that would help at all.

Thanks, it's, ah. [he scratches at the side of his neck and offers a little half shrug with the other shoulder.]

It's mostly the talking stuff out, really. I just got used to speaking to a professional when I was eight and it tends to help. I've got friends here, of course, but sometimes it easier to talk to a stranger.

[a little laugh.] I wouldn't say no to more adderall though, if you know someone who can get me some of that. Even skipping doses, I ran out last month. And concentrating has been pretty awful lately.

[ immediately. ] Of course. I'll check on that, then — and I meant what I said about my offer to talk anytime, too, if you think it would help. I'm a teacher, which has always involved a little unofficial counseling.

[another laugh and a grateful smile for clara.] That's true, my school counselor managed to help a bit too, when some stuff was happening my sophomore year.

Thanks though, I'll definitely keep your offer in mind.

[ and she returns that smile. ] You're welcome. If I hear anything from Medical, I'll let you know.

[ and before she forgets — ]

[ well, that's a unique name, and certainly one she wouldn't forget after last time. she mouths a little 'o.' ]

Has anybody mentioned the bit of memory swapping that went on several jumps back?

Nooooooo? No, gonna have to say that no one did.

Well, that happened. [ even faster than usual. ] I never got the chance to talk to you about it, since we hadn't really spoken leading up to it, but I think I got one of yours. I never saw your face — which would make sense, since I assume it was, um, your memory, obviously, as 'Stiles' was yelled quite a few times. [ quick breath, and — ] Sorry to spring that on you.

It's okay? [a casual shrug] Not like you chose to see my memory, right? This place is trippy.

Out of curiosity, what did you wind up seeing?

I'm not exactly sure, honestly. A lot of odd things, no offense. All at this...spooky motel is probably the best description for it.

[a wince. yeah, he knows what she's talking about.]

Oh, wow, sorry about that. That couldn't have been fun for you.

[ genuinely surprised. ] For me — I think I'm more worried about you.

Eh. You get used to it after awhile. [you really don't]

[ she sighs. no point in pushing that issue. ] Well, you were very brave.

I had to be.
