[ The video was just going to flicker for a few moments before finally settling on a proper image. The image cleared to show a corner of a room. By the look of it, it was properly one of the upper levels that did'nt get many visitors. It looks like someone had made there own version of a nest, one of the mattresses from the bunkers pressed into the corner. There was even some rubbish littered around the place. The owner had clearly made there own private home. The video where it rested as Peter flopped himself down in front of it. His hair longer and possibly more wild since the last time he'd appeared on the video. His shirt was crinkled but more or less clean enough considering how long the last jump was.

Peter stared at the screen for a few moments before speaking.]

...I'm going to need a favor.

[ There was a little sigh at that as Peter reached up and slipped his hand behind his ear.]

And I hate asking for favors.

It's not just you or anything. Derek's just not a big sharer. I've known him for a year, but most of the stuff I know about him I got through my own digging and prying than from anything volunteered.

[he makes a vague gesture that could mean anything really]

You stop being strangers when you keep saving each others lives though, I guess.

[ That face just gives him more ammo Stiles.]

Because you don't want it or because you want it and that scares you a little? Like, on a scale on one to a billion about bad of an idea is it?

[ His eyes flick back up at Stiles at those words. He's more then aware he's poking at that slip up that Peter's going to deny he said it.]

Sort of. It was just the way I grew up. You know? Never put roots down. Keep your head down, don't draw attention to yourself and keep moving. Linda was sort of awesome like that.

[ Those are one and the same. Right? Besides, he's been polite enough never to stare at Stiles in the lockers.]

No. I mean...that's not what I meant. I've been here before and I just...don't remember that time? So Derek has this whole lot of knowledge about who I am and I just met the guy? It's just a bizarre sort of set up I suppose.

[ Peter was just going to tuck some stray hair behind his ear. ]

Yeah. I get that whole protective vibe from him.

[gonna say it again, okay. goddamnit peter.]

Ohmygod, I don't know if I "want it" from any dude, much less Derek, king of bad relationships, okay Peter? It's not like I exactly got a lot of offers back home to find out for sure if I'd like to do more than look.

[tilting his head thoughtfully.] Linda?

[but, you know, if you think you've made him forget about the slip you are sadly mistaken peter. stiles forgets nothing.

he sighs.]

Apparently I was here with Derek for aaaaaaages before, well, myself. And I can tell it bothers Derek sometimes, when he remembers something that I don't.

Other me probably wouldn't have fucked up over the network like I did with Kate earlier, either.

Isn't the fact you like to look sort of a clear indicator? I mean beyond the whole "that guy looks good in jeans" sort of look.

[ Peter just shrug's at that, trying to play off talking about his past as it's no big thing and that asking any more questions would be totally dull.]

Linda was- is my mother. Sort of the only person I really traveled with for the most part.

[ As long as they don't talk about it. It's properly better right? He made a mistake. Doesn't mean he's ready to shout that secret from the rooftops.]

Maybe the two of you had a different realtionship here then you did back home? Anyone who claims they met me before sort of staying away from me those days. God knows why.

Have you told Scott yet? That you like boooooooys? [ Scott teased as he picked up one of the apples from his mattress and bite into it as he chewed thoughtfully.] Everyone fucks up.

You can think something looks nice without wanting to bone it, Peter. My Jackson example from earlier, for example.

[his eyes sort of soften at the mention of mothers though.] That's nice.

Oh I couldn't even begin to imagine, Peter, it must be your winning personality.

[he's still smiling when he says this though, so it's obvious he's just poking fun a bit.]

Uh, no. I haven't. That fucking up thing that everyone does? I did it really badly before I came here, so I'm a little more concerned dealing with that stuff with him than braiding his hair and telling him about how I might not mind kissing boy either anymore.

[ Admiiiiiiit it.]

Again. I don't know Jackson, so it's a bit hard to use as a frame of reference. I am getting the feeling you want me to stop making fantastic jokes about you and Derek though.

[ Peter just shrugs. Linda was Linda to him. One of the few people to know about his change before he came here.]

Does he even have enough hair to braid? So you have to have that deep serious talk before then? I don't envy you that.

His hair used to be long enough to braid it. Really really short braids, but yeah. I'm trying to avoid that conversation for as long as possible though.

Also you have a really skewed definition of "fantastic". You should probably try reading a dictionary, get that fixed. I can give you directions to a library on the ship if that would help.

Well, avoiding it is your choice. I don't really have...friends. Pretty sure I can't tell you what do with them.

[stiles makes a mock offended face at peter over the video]

[ Peter just arches both of his eyebrows at that with a little smirk.]

Friends don't normally think each other are handsome. Do they?

[rolling his eyes fiercely even as his cheeks go a tiny bit pink.]

Fine, what do you think we are then?

[ He's just admiring those pink cheeks for a moment before he's leaning back with a one shouldered shrug.]

Beats me. I've never been good at labels.

[you are going to be the death of him peter and it's not even going to be because of the sharp teeth and claws and shit.]

Why does that not surprise me.

[ I'm not saying Peter has commitment issues. But he sort of has commitment issues. Peter just smirks that teasing smirk of his.]

[i never would have guessed. stiles does his little 'haha yeah right' laugh and says;]

[ Peter just presses his lips together for a moment before speaking again.]

How about we call it...a beginning of...something. A beginning. [ It's vague enough. Right?]

['a beginning of something' oh peter you poet at heart. stiles can sort of tell that this is hard for peter though so he gives him a little half smile and nods.]

I can work with that. I've worked with less, really.

[ Tell no one. Peter has a certain reputation to uphold. But he's glad that the others not pressing it and he gave a small smile back to him.]

Worked with less huh? Then I must be a step up in that department.

[a laugh, nothing wry or unpleasant to it, just sheer amusement.]

Are you looking for compliments Peter? Do you want to hear that you're the best I've ever had?

[ He wiggled his fingers a little before he laughed, his long hair falling in front of his face. Better his conversation then the one about him being a werewolf.]

[oh peter, you're fond of the blush, right? right? i certainly hope so because it is back full force. not just because of his own little verbal slip, but also peter's intimation of things to come.

but, you know, if you think he's letting go of the werewolf thing you are in for a surprise. he's mostly just holding it off for a private discussion in person.]

[ Peter mused, without a trace of irony as he chuckled lightly at the sight of that blush. Hey, he was starting to be fond of that reaction.

Hopefully it's not a private discussion you're going to have with the huge black dog Peter turns into it. So give it a few days.]

Derek was kind of full of himself back then too, maybe there's a correlation there. [no stiles it's because derek was high on alpha juice. ~~alpha juice wtf is that supposed to be what is wrong with my brain.~~

and no worries on that front, peter, stiles is kind of busy this jump with a newly bitten werewolf and he's kind of being limited to one life threatening event per jump so obviously he's all booked up this month.]
