[ York's just a little less relaxed and personable than he normally is when the feed clicks on, though he's leaning back in his chair like he usually does, letting it tilt as he holds the device up in front of him. The shuttle hijacking attempt was his first taste of things being as off as everyone had been claiming, but now with the recent deaths he's taking this even more seriously. He starts speaking as though in the middle of a conversation already with his viewers. ]

So I know there's lots of opportunity for R & R on this ship, but I gotta tell you up front I've been thinking about this for a while now, okay. And in light of recent events I think it might be a better idea than I even realized.

Now, I'm just sending out feelers here, but I'm skilled in hand-to-hand fighting and I'm sure there're others of you here, like me, who'd like to practice that more. Maybe even see if there's something we can learn from one another. So if you're interested in doing some sparring, let me know, and if I get enough response maybe we'll make a thing out of it.

Considering last I saw him was when I was on my way out of the canyon he was in? Yeah, this is just a 'here' thing.

Canyon? Last I knew, you were going to get him out of the computer on the Mother of Invention.

[ Not that timeline misalignments were anything new on this ship, from what he'd seen. ]

[ She sighed. Great. Why were there so many things that they didn't remember or know? ]

That was a long time ago, York. Years ago.

A couple, yeah. Tried to track you down right after everything happened, but I had to worry about saving my own skin. Guess you got away okay, too, huh?

So...what's this about a canyon?

[ She shrugged. ]

[ She rubbed her temple lightly. ]

[ He sends over a quick ping on the location for her. ]

[ He was already decent to go out, so he wasted a little more time there in his room before heading down early. He'd have a drink in hand by the time Tex joined him. ]

[ She got there shortly after they agreed to and she grabbed a seat beside him. She still wasn't sure what to think about him being here, but it was better than him being a rotting corpse. ]

Hey, it's been a while.

Sure has.

[ He glanced at her with veiled curiosity. He didn't know what he had expected her to look like, and he wondered if this body was based on the same person she was based on, but he wasn't going to say anything. ]

You want a drink?

[ She nodded and focused her eyes on the bottles behind the counter. ]

A shot of something hard.

[ He got up to take care of that for her, going around the counter and choosing one of the bottles of space liquor before getting out a glass and pouring her a shot. ]

There, that oughta take the edge off of things.

[ She gave him a small, strained smile in thanks and threw it back immediately. ]

When was the last time you saw me?

[ In any other place, that question would seem strange. ]

[ He poured her another and set the bottle down to get his own drink from the spot where he'd been sitting beside her and took a drink. ]

When you were headed back into the labs on the ship.

[ They'd talked on the comm a couple of times after that, but that was the last time he'd seen that jet-black armor. ]

Sounds like none of us are from the same time then.

[ Which meant he didn't have any idea about would have happened with Wyoming later down the line. Perfect. ]

[ She snorted. ]

Just because it happens a lot here doesn't mean it isn't weird.
