[ York's just a little less relaxed and personable than he normally is when the feed clicks on, though he's leaning back in his chair like he usually does, letting it tilt as he holds the device up in front of him. The shuttle hijacking attempt was his first taste of things being as off as everyone had been claiming, but now with the recent deaths he's taking this even more seriously. He starts speaking as though in the middle of a conversation already with his viewers. ]

So I know there's lots of opportunity for R & R on this ship, but I gotta tell you up front I've been thinking about this for a while now, okay. And in light of recent events I think it might be a better idea than I even realized.

Now, I'm just sending out feelers here, but I'm skilled in hand-to-hand fighting and I'm sure there're others of you here, like me, who'd like to practice that more. Maybe even see if there's something we can learn from one another. So if you're interested in doing some sparring, let me know, and if I get enough response maybe we'll make a thing out of it.

[ He shook his head with a wry smile at her understatement and took another slow drink. ]

Yeah, left. [She swirled her glass slowly in her hand and sighed.] And I met up with you again not that long ago.

Oh, yeah? Huh.

[ Maybe that meant what people said about this place was true--a person did go back where they came from when they were sent away. ]

You sure it was really me? He didn't act like some kind of impostor, did he?

[ That's a joke. Mostly. ]

[ She wished she could be as light about it as he was. ]

I wish. I had asked you to help me get some payback on Omega. He was working with Wyoming and Gamma and had holed up in some fortress.

You wish? [ He chuckled and lightly elbowed her arm. ] Don't tell me I fucked up the objective.

Worse. [ She waited a beat and glanced down at her drink before locking eyes with him. ] You and D weren't able to complete the objective.

[ His brows draw together a little bit, the smile fading. That's a level of seriousness he knows Tex reserves for really important things, and it's strange looking at her and seeing the expression in her eyes. He's barely even had a chance to learn this face, and here she is being so earnestly grave. ]

Well. I guess that means I get D back sometime.

[ Because he has no idea what to do in situations like this other than be a smart-aleck. His tone is weaker, though. He sounds just a little bit stunned, actually. ]

Yeah, and he stayed with you until the end.

[ Her voice is uncharacteristically soft and she reaches for a bottle to refill his glass. ]

[ He pulls the glass toward him after she's got it refilled and picks it up to sip slowly. He's stunned into silence, for now. ]

I thought you should know. In case Wyoming decides to show up here.

[ That asshole was the reason York had died and her fist tightened around her glass. That fight should have gone differently. ]

[ That's an interesting thought, really, but he's immediately dismissive. ]

I'm not worried about him.

You should at least be wary of him if he shows up.

Oh, yeah, hell. I mean, he's Wyoming. We're never going to be best buddies.

Hey, well, listen. Now I know about it. Maybe I can change things when I go back.

[She frowned. That was a thought, only it wouldn't do much good.] Except it's already happened for me.

Well...yeah. But it makes a difference for me. And we can hang out as long as we're both here, right?

[She sighed.] Now you sound like Church.

Yeah. Apparently he and I were about to get EMPed when he got pulled here.

[She stared at her glass a moment then reached to get another drink.] I don't know if I want to spend my last days on some unknown ship.
