[ York's just a little less relaxed and personable than he normally is when the feed clicks on, though he's leaning back in his chair like he usually does, letting it tilt as he holds the device up in front of him. The shuttle hijacking attempt was his first taste of things being as off as everyone had been claiming, but now with the recent deaths he's taking this even more seriously. He starts speaking as though in the middle of a conversation already with his viewers. ]

So I know there's lots of opportunity for R & R on this ship, but I gotta tell you up front I've been thinking about this for a while now, okay. And in light of recent events I think it might be a better idea than I even realized.

Now, I'm just sending out feelers here, but I'm skilled in hand-to-hand fighting and I'm sure there're others of you here, like me, who'd like to practice that more. Maybe even see if there's something we can learn from one another. So if you're interested in doing some sparring, let me know, and if I get enough response maybe we'll make a thing out of it.

Oh yeah? You're not sick of keeping other people in line?

[She smirked.]

Not yet. We'll see after I've had to break up too many drunk fights.

Yeah, better you than me.

[She elbowed his side.] I better not see you starting any.

[ He chuckled. ]

Yeah, that's what I do with all my spare time, go around the ship starting fights.

Hey, that wouldn't surprise me.

I only do it so I'll have stories to tell later.

Got any that are worth telling now?

I don't know about 'worth telling', but there was an incident on the flight deck. Group of morons decided to rush the crew and try to steal a shuttle.

[She raised an eyebrow at that.] And where did they think they were going to get with that?

[logicunlocked]

Into a shuttle and back home, somehow. You know, magically.

[She shook her head.] Dumb plan, but I can't blame them for trying.

[logicunlocked]

[ He raised an eyebrow at that. ]

Well, I can. Maybe that's because I'm more personally invested, I dunno.

[ Getting punched in the head tended to make a man feel that way. ]

I'm surprised you weren't trying to get out of here before.

Me? Why would I want to do that?

[ghostthatlingers]

[She shrugged.] You never seemed like the type to take the easy way out.

[ That feels like a challenge, almost. He shakes his head. ]

My first thought when I woke up here was that this was a bounty hunting ship. I thought the Project had paid for someone to find me and pick me up. I was trying to work out my escape then.

And then you stopped?

[logicunlocked]

Yeah, I did, Tex. No one knows why we've been brought here, but it's not bounty hunters. There's a community built up here, and right now I need that.

[ He needs to be around people, he keeps himself out among them constantly, because the silence in his head still bothers him, still hurts emotionally, like there's an empty spot in his head that had something scooped out of it. ]

[She sighed and rested her elbows on the bar.]

It looks like we're stuck here for a while, anyway.

For whatever reason, yeah, we are.

[ghostthatlingers]

[She nodded and slipped off the bar stool and pulled up her sleeve so he could see her tattoo.]

[ He was wearing one of his T-shirts, so he had no doubt she'd already taken note of his. He gives her a little mock salute and a smile. ]
