[ Having arrived in the middle of a ship-wide network failure the communicative devices remain a novelty to Liliana, who has been idly amusing herself with the predictability of people despite their confusing terminology and lexical fields. There is so much yet to learn about this hulking vessel that calls itself the Tranquility—fitting of name, in certain respects, providing its main goal is to deceive.
... She has her own theories about that, too, but for the time being she's content to keep her cards from the table. Now, with the promise of deception in mind: ]

Oh, hush.
[ She shakes her head on a would-be sympathetic chuckle. This has to be the most lacklustre man she's ever met in the century-and-a-bit she's been alive, and that includes those miserable blue mages and their stuffy, bookish ways. A kiss of sarcasm follows: ]
May choirs of angels help me if the rest of the ship's company is so enthralling as you.
[ And Liliana hates nothing more than angels. ]
