【VIDEO】 shut up and swallow | tw just in case: non-descriptive talk of cadavers! ♥
[ Having arrived in the middle of a ship-wide network failure the communicative devices remain a novelty to Liliana, who has been idly amusing herself with the predictability of people despite their confusing terminology and lexical fields. There is so much yet to learn about this hulking vessel that calls itself the Tranquility—fitting of name, in certain respects, providing its main goal is to deceive.
... She has her own theories about that, too, but for the time being she's content to keep her cards from the table. Now, with the promise of deception in mind: ]
As a relatively new arrival, I'd like to thank all whom have offered their assistance in coming to terms with this displacement.
[ A charming smile curves mauve lips into an expression of captivating gratitude—her appearance is a little too eerie to be natural, although that might have more to do with the violet embers flickering across her eyes than, say, the wrap of demonic sorcery holding her together. Although the gothic architecture of the ship caters to her tastes the prospect of manual labour does not: Liliana didn't prolong her life to end up so wretched—on a par with the hordes of common people—and she needs bodies if she's to build some measure of home comfort around herself. A lock of hair is flipped back over her shoulder with a rich chuckle. ]
In return, I'd like to offer my assistance to the ship in what small way I can. My name is Liliana and my speciality is in the handling of the dead— [ A moment of pause as she lowers her lashes a little way; she's a passionate person, after all, and her eyes have betrayed her before. ] ... Autopsy, if you like, and my knowledge of the area is extensive.
[ She tilts her head on an enigmatic smile. ]
Miserable work, I know, but it has to be done. Do let me know if I can be of use.
video;
I wouldn't call it miserable.
Not that I have much experience there, my field's more the digging and preserving kind.
video.
[ Liliana can appreciate digging and preserving: that is, when it's drones digging up resources for her to pour into her own self-preservation. Preserving a perfectly good corpse, on the other hand, is a disgraceful waste of potential. ]
No? Perhaps I've grown too used to being disagreed with.
[ Oh, she definitely has, she just doesn't really care. This is all for the sake of keeping up appearances for the time being, although she can't bite back the wry smile that follows. ]
Though I imagine there will be some difference in handling aged remains over fresh ones.
[ In Liliana's actually? Not so much. ]

[Eileen had enjoyed her work back in college, it had influenced her career path, especially when she found her focus.]
Out of everything that the dead leave behind, I'm most interested in their language. Archaic languages have always been my focus.

[ he's not really sure what he's doing when he appears on the screen, wearing his lacrosse sweatshirt over his regulated jump suit, all big eyes and buzz cut. ]
Prove it.
video.
[ Liliana is immediately curious. There's something about this one—a glimmer of recognition in his eyes—although that can't possibly be right, can it, because if he knew her he'd know not to provoke her. ]
My, my ...
[ Her eyes glow bright with amusement as she reveals her teeth in a winning smile, because fuck you Stiles she's not a performing monkey. ]
A volunteer?

[ he wants to ask if she's a cosplayer, but if she's not that seems like it would be bad news bears. (actually, if she's not he should probably get the hell out of this conversation, baiting her is generally a bad life choice, and he knows it, and he's doing it anyway. what a freaking winner. ]
Aaaand I don't really wanna be anytime in the near future. So you might have to look around for someone else to work your mojo on.
[ he waggles his fingers. ]

[it's at this point that brian flicks on his own end's video function; he's nothing if not a consummate mimic. there's nothing of particular interest to the feed, unless you count the fact that the entrance to the morgue is totally visible behind him, a little to the right.]
Has anyone given you the Medbay referendum yet? Not exactly the same thing, and I doubt we can promise you regular work, but it's as close as you'll get under these circumstances.

People don't die around here a lot, unfortunately.
[ wait what. he blinks and frowns. ]
I mean-- Fortunately, they don't die but it puts you in a pickle, I guess? Wow, I could've worded that better -- But you could probably be of use to medbay a little?
