PSA on behalf of Josh of "Awkwardly Hug a Josh Day":
If you hug me without permission I will cry bad touching and sick one of our many obnoxious lawyers on you.
Don't do it.
[ 100% ENCRYPTION - AIDAN WAITE ]
You do realize I turn the fake-30th. If I literally bite someone's head off that's on you and your juvenile accomplice, buddy.

Besides, have you seen the people we've got on this ship? You can't tell me you'd look forward to indiscriminate hugs.

Speaking of which, am I allowed to ask how much of that was really new information? I know I'm not the first one to figuratively faint in the presence of the Enterprise crew, here. You knew something was up already.

[they failed to mention it to Sulu aside from 'people might know strange things' and well, oops on them for that.]

[ what a true captain, he should start using the royal 'we'.
also WEEPS INTO HANDS ]
private;
Speaking of, is it true?
private;
It's true, but only in the sense of it being one of literally, like, a bajillion stories involving you and your crew. It's not one many people consider valid.
Even if we go with the theory that what's fiction to me is reality for you, a real nerd would argue that the universe you come from is unique from all of the previously established ones. In which case, none of the stories I know would apply.

[there's a pause. does he ask? does he trust Data at his word? Spock and he had already decided that if it was the case, it wouldn't happen like that. and he comforts himself with the knowledge that his life is irrevocably different from the other Kirk.
he can't help himself.]
Did he die alone?
private;
[ Not much of an answer, and he's not really sure how much he should elaborate. Considering how usually conversations he's had involving these plots are irreverent and dismissive (because, really, talk about a dumb way to end a legacy), it's suddenly like thin ice.
That and he's not sure if he should mention the fact that in that stupid book Kirk's brought back to life by aliens and used against the Federation. He's guessing not. ]

not his crew.]
Well, I guess there are worse ways to go.
