( 05 ) video ✵ you got no time to lose you are young men you must be living go now you are forgiven
[ faith is smoking slowly when she turns on the feed, clearly lingering over the last of her stash in a way she really should have implemented sooner.
she has a veritable arsenal out and unloaded, covering a lot of the bits of her room that can be seen-- weapons cleaning is a totally sane hobby, why is everyone nervous when they try and sit down in here-- and she has a gun clearly unloaded and half taken apart in her hands, gleaming already but apparently not good enough.
her mask is chilling out in the back of her closet, but that's nobody's business but her own. ]
So, here's my thing. And I'm not talking for SEC here, so don't give me shit duty again, all right boss? Just thinking out loud is all.
[ she loves you, tyke. ]
So, what. We got-- hell and darkness out there? Yeah, and? I've done hell and darkness, it's pretty freaking routine for me.
Why are we letting jackasses like Caffrey and Stark head out alone and come back all fucked up and useless?
[ wait for it. ]
No offense, or anything.
Look-- back home, this is where we start talking about mounting up and heading out to take a little tour ourselves, is all I'm saying.
[ pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease oh please won't someone give her permission to troll the creepy space doom, oh oh oh pick her! ]

PERMATHAT ipad tagging hates subject lines AND SO DO I!!!!!!!!!!!! no i don't
(but that's shit and she knows it, because the last thing b remembers her doing is exactly what she just gave reaper a real apology for.
...jesus fuck, this is gonna suck hard. ]
Sorry. [ she spits it out like a mouthful of blood, then again, slower. ] I was messed-- anyway, just sorry. About the big gu-- about Angel. [ she's pretty sure this buffy isn't any readier to hear about faith and angel, bffs4eva! than the one who found out was. ] And the whole sucking gut wound thing.
no subject
Sorry? You're sorry? [ her tone is incredulous, a mixture of suspicion and distaste. ] Like we're gonna wave around a wand made of sunshine and friendship and everything is going to be fine and magical and happy again?
[ faith had assisted them in defeating the mayor, she knows. she'd suffered for her betrayal, but had that been enough? ]
no subject
[ faith grits her teeth and stops, counts to ten.
and ten again.
and then a hundred and when it looks like buffy's going to open her mouth, she busts in-- ] Dude, don't even start and just gimme a sec or I swear to god we're both gonna regret it in the morning.
[ and back to counting, and a deep exhale and now staring at her shoes because she's only so evolved. ] Nobody did anything right in Sunnydale, okay? Nobody. Me included. And no, Wes is the fairy dust guy and I like it at night, and you and me were never happy so don't be such a pissy little bitch at me when I'm trying here, all right?
[ and her tone sharpens there so another deep breath. ] All I'm saying is the chick I was back in the bad old days isn't the same chick I am now, and if we're stuck on this piece of crap together I wanted to get that clear.
[ reluctantly, but less spat out this time. ] And say I'm sorry, and that it doesn't matter what you said or did, or didn't say and do or whatever. I fucked up, gotta own that one. [ her smile is wan, but it's a try. ] Prison shrinks are big on 'owning' things. Got a whole lot more to my name now, I guess. Always thought owning things meant like, TVs.
[ kind of a joke? maybe? ]
oops this drowned in my inbox do you still love me
Okay. [ it seems like a hollow word, but there's more meaning in it than she could anticipate. perhaps they'll never truly be friends, not with the animosity and tension and combined history dangled over their heads, but she can try to make this work.
she just hopes faith actually is willing to try, skeptical that these are empty words — but faith has always been more about action than pretty words and sentiments, so perhaps this is their chance, even if she's... a little surprised to hear the word 'prison' and 'shrink' come out of her mouth in a way that's not wholly derogatory.
she smiles, a faint twitch of the corners of her lips. it might be weak, but it's not insincere. ]
Never thought you could pull off the ugly orange jumpsuit, Faith. [ and even though this is still tense and awkward, maybe, just maybe, she's almost proud. ]
NO IHU FOREVER or actually i am EVEN SLOWER
[ it's not the most ringing endorsement, but faith lets out a slight breath she didn't quite know she was holding, lips twitching into an expression that's almost a tentative smile as she shrugs. ]
They went with blue-- dodged a bullet.
competition of slowness 1 2 3 go
Blue, huh? Watch out, we're getting fancy here. [ though a bit strained, she smiles faintly, easing into more serious territory. ] Sounds like it was good for you. [ but she'll still have to be the judge of that. ]
best competition tbqh
[ faith's own smile is a little strained, but she ate crow with cordelia and that was a whole lot more barbed than this; she can hold her own. ]
It-- I mean, it fucking sucked. You know me, B, I never met a cage that gave me any good feelings. [ she huffs out a short laugh, more a bark. ] But yeah. It was good for me, made me deal with some stuff.
