[ Look, it's an Isaac, slouching in his old room - the one that matches the numbers on his arm, not the one he sleeps in. It looks mostly unused because he's only been in there for all of six hours before he moved down to Derek's space. "Mostly" is a keyword, though; he's been staying here infrequently, in between avoiding Derek and other familiar (adult) faces. Maybe Erica knows where he's been. Or Remus, or Hayley, or Tyler, or Seraphim. He's pretty sure no one over eighteen knows, Isaac's gone lengths on the matter.

He's not wearing his mask, even if he's been wearing it a lot lately; Isaac knows a thing or two about keeping quiet, especially about things that can and do hurt you. The confused sad look he's wearing right now, though - it's a bit too clean. It's sincere, mostly.

"Mostly" is our word of the day.

Then he holds up a combat knife for the network to see.]

I don't know anyone she was friends with, but for what it's worth, Miss Rosella's not around anymore. She left me this, for some reason.

Anyway, people have been disappearing, and there's this big thing going down about Smiley and stuff, so I guess this is a bad time to ask about gym equipment, and like. Who do we talk to about appropriating one of the bigger rooms or a holodeck to set up a gym? I mean, we probably already have one or two but this one's more of like, a club thing?

More of a thing that's just ours, not something pre-made and ready to use. Is that allowed?

Let me just remind you of the fact that I am blind, Isaac. This means when you heal with your werewolf abilities, I will not know you were injured unless you tell me directly. You being stabbed? Is something I want to know.

[ he's trying not to say that it doesn't matter if you're blind or not, because people see what they want to see anyway and if he wanted, you wouldn't even notice — why does this even matter. ]

everything was going nuts back then, i wasn't going to add another thing to the pile when i can just heal the wound over in seconds.

Just because you can heal from it doesn't mean it isn't a problem.

[ he really just doesn't know what to think. isaac doesn't seem to realize how big a deal being stabbed by someone is and it's just-- how does he impress the fact that, yeah, it kind of is a big deal? he really does not know. ]

then what's the point in healing?

[ because he honestly has little frame of reference for this; the whole reason he took the bite, the whole reason he stayed in beacon hills, the whole point in sticking around to fight is to be able to do something like he couldn't have before.

he matters because he's willing to put himself out on the line when few people would care to. if he can bear something and survive it, and hide it away from the people who matter to him - that's more than he's ever been able to do for anyone.

[ and some other place too, but he's not talking about that. he'll apologize to derek and auggie in person later, and with more feeling, but jenna's reaction was the one isaac's actually worried about the most.

derek would get angry, and then blame himself for some made-up reason or other; with auggie it could go either way, but isaac knows that auggie knows this isn't entirely his fault. jenna, though - he can't predict her. he doesn't want to, but he knows he needs to.

this is a mindset he can't believe he wanted gone. ]
