Hey there, kids. So it's come to my attention that there are some of us a little more used to this whole traveling in space thing, am I right? I mean. There are some of us on here who have literally never even heard of the idea, which. Is charming, really it is. But that means that this whole Tranquility thing has gotta be more than a bit of a shock. So here's where I'm going to be taking a poll.

How many of you are familiar with travel in space? How many of you have heard of it, but never dreamed you'd do it yourself? How many of haven't even dreamed of traveling the stars?

I figure if we cover that much at least, we'll be able to determine how many of us need a bit more explanation than the fact that we seem to be on some sort of large passenger vessel traveling through some undetermined part of some unknown galaxy. Vague, I know, but I haven't exactly found a viewing screen yet, have you? That's where the rest of us come in. Maybe, with your help, we can figure this all out.

[He goes to reach forward to turn off the video feed, before a thought comes to him and he stops, a more mysterious look in his eyes as he does] I don't suppose that any of you are familiar with time travel...?

Not really, no. No specific vessel. It's more the title. I flew planes in a war - like this one, but smaller and in the sky rather than space.

I've been to your time, I can understand how all of this must be a bit of a stretch, yeah.

Thereabouts, but yeah. I've been to a lot of times. [Oh yes, Jack. Time travel. You 18th century folks have no idea]

[Hey to be fair, he doesn't know what a plane is. Time travel is way out of his league.]

How d'ya get to different times, mate? The only time I've been in is the here and now.

[Jack holds his wrist up, tapping his brown leather wriststrap he's got there] Vortex manipulator. [And that's all the information you'll get there, Jack]

Funny you should say that, though. I think you'll find that the here and now that you're in at the moment is not the here and now that you left behind, with your ship.

[...He's never even heard of the word vortex and his only idea of a manipulator is with people. Those words don't make sense and he'll just pause for a second and move onto what he does know:]

[Someone told him once before, and he wasn't sure he believed them. But two people saying it makes it hard to refute.]

That, my friend, I don't have an answer for. Your guess is as good as mine. I'm not quite sure how I'm here either. Or how any of us are here. [Especially considering some of them are pretty sure they should have died...]
