Hey there, kids. So it's come to my attention that there are some of us a little more used to this whole traveling in space thing, am I right? I mean. There are some of us on here who have literally never even heard of the idea, which. Is charming, really it is. But that means that this whole Tranquility thing has gotta be more than a bit of a shock. So here's where I'm going to be taking a poll.

How many of you are familiar with travel in space? How many of you have heard of it, but never dreamed you'd do it yourself? How many of haven't even dreamed of traveling the stars?

I figure if we cover that much at least, we'll be able to determine how many of us need a bit more explanation than the fact that we seem to be on some sort of large passenger vessel traveling through some undetermined part of some unknown galaxy. Vague, I know, but I haven't exactly found a viewing screen yet, have you? That's where the rest of us come in. Maybe, with your help, we can figure this all out.

[He goes to reach forward to turn off the video feed, before a thought comes to him and he stops, a more mysterious look in his eyes as he does] I don't suppose that any of you are familiar with time travel...?

He crashed my stag night by popping out of a cake and then telling me I had to come. That's pretty close to stealing.

Yikes. Alright, fair enough. Has it been stealing ever since? He's not usually quite so brazen about these things, if you insisted on going home.

Besides, he insisted on finding somewhere nice for us to spend a pre-wedding honeymoon.

Honeymoon, huh? So you're married, then? You and this Amy. And. Sounds like she's a little more attached to the traveling than you, am I getting this right?

Engaged. We're going to be married tomorrow, or, uh, whenever tomorrow is.

Amy's...well, she's pretty fantastic and more than a little headstrong. She'll travel with or without me although I'd like to think she's happier that I'm coming along.

Well you're probably happier for being there and keeping an eye on her. I know how these things work.

If it makes you feel better, eventually we do stop. Eventually we figure out that there needs to be more than running about in a blue box and experiencing the wonders of the universe. Reasons to choose to stay put. [Like Ianto, and Torchwood, and the life he had in Cardiff. Personally speaking, of course. He smiles, a bit sadly, a bit secretly]

The Doctor does tend to bring out the worst in people, especially when they've decided to be their best.

[He might admire the man a bit, but he's still very much in agreement with his first assessment of what the Doctor does to people.]

That's an interesting way of putting it. How long have you been traveling with him, exactly?

A few months I think. He's not really one for calendars.

Not really, no. Though if you asked the TARDIS nicely for one, she might take pity on you. As a note.

She really is sentient then? I thought the Doctor was just being, well, you know, the Doctor.

Well. He probably was kind of being his usual confusing self, but it's true, she is. [She tried to shake him off that one time he'd tried to stow aboard, after all, he knows this for a fact]

That's...unsettling.

[All he could think about was all those times he and Amy had nearly had sex in some weird spot. Had the TARDIS "seen" them?]

[Jack raises an eyebrow, because his mind just went there too. Although to be fair, this is Jack, and his mind is always somewhere relatively close to 'there'.]

Yes and no. Comes in handy if you're in her good graces, at least. [Which he hadn't really been towards the end, but that's alright. He's more or less okay with the fact that at least the time-traveling ship feels uncomfortable around a fixed point in space in time like him]

Well, I've never gotten lost, so she must not hate me too much.

[There were other things too, but he had thought it was completely normal for the TARDIS]

See. There you have it. She's not locking you up in cupboards or creating doors for you that lead out into deep space, you've gotta be somewhere on her good side then.

Wait. Does she do that often? I mean, if I accidentally slam a door she's not going have me walk out into a black hole, right?

No. That's a fate she'd leave only for someone that truly offended her, don't worry about it.

Oh, well, great. Although I guess that explains the bunkbeds.

Well. She was either feeling a bit of a prude, or maybe she was just jealous.
