[Remus looks pale and has awfully dark circles under his eyes, as per usual, and there's a fresh pink scar along the bridge of his nose-- but that can hardly be seen, because right now Remus is too busy flailing his hands around everywhere. He's in the media library, tucked between two stacks, far too many datapads surrounding him.]

Have you all seen this? Have you all seen this? Look at it! Oh, Merlin, I've never seen such literature-- and it's so extensive! I can't even choose, there's far too many-- Sirius Black, you are in trouble when I see you if you knew about this and kept it from me--

[He pushes his fingers through his hair. It ends up sticking up, but that's all right; he's too busy glancing down and scrabbling through the pile of datapads surrounding him.]

Like-- oh, look at this, it's this one story of a-- well, I can't hardly understand it, it's not of a human life, but I think it's a royal hierarchy on this one planet-- and oh, oh, there was one I found where it was entirely about time travel, and going to the future of a planet, and how he dealt with being a thousand years in the future-- oh, they're all so wonderful, I only wish I had more time--

[He glances up at the camera, manic and delighted-- but, because he's Remus, he bites his lip and tries to calm down a little.]

I can't understand why I'm the only person in here. There has to be at least one other person on this ship who'll be pleased by this public service announcement.

Just tired. [ see, look how snuggly and ..way comfortable she is in her bed yes. ] I did that thing, the donation thing, but. [ let's not talk about that because well, Wesley got mad at her for doing it, and she doesn't want anyone else getting mad at her for it because yeah people being mad at her sucks ] Tell me more about the books there. Are they even in English?

[But rather than look upset, he looks quite pleasantly surprised.]

That was an incredibly brave thing for you to do, Raven. But, ah-- yes, they are, happily enough. I can read Latin, and French, and I can get by in Spanish-- but really, languages aren't my strong suit. Besides, if they were in an alien language, I doubt I'd be able to translate it.

[ she's a little bit surprised by the reaction - incredibly brave - because nobody else seems to feel that way. although really, it didn't feel brave or stupid of her, it just felt like the right thing. but yeah, hm. ]

Wow, I'd say knowing three or fourish languages makes it a strong suit of yours. Maybe not the strongest, but there are some days I feel like I barely have a grasp on English alone, so. Kudos. [ grins ] Gosh, listen though, if you find a book in some alien language, you should totally copy it onto your communicator so we can try reading it aloud somewhere. Make it seem like we're speaking in some secret code when really it's just a story.

[He laughs.]

And what if someone called us out on it, or asked us to teach it to them?

We casually explain that it's a secret friendship language. Nobody else can know it.
