Since I've only just arrived and it seems there's a lot to learn around here, I'm hoping someone out there can answer a couple of questions for me. Just simple ones right now, really.

What do you all do for fun, in your leisure time? Is there a library, or games? Darts, pool table, that sort of thing maybe?

And, um...I know there's been a little talk about it, but is there any alcohol on board? And if so, is it available for public consumption or do I have to beg someone for a drink or two?

Waiting for some terrible to happen and seeing what work we can get done in the meantime sounds exactly like home. So far the main difference is there's no Indian take-away and my wardrobe is more limited.

That probably sounds pretty flippant to someone who's actually seen the horrible things, though.

I'm naturally flippant. I've been possessed by demons, hunted by hiveminds, and locked in rooms with skeletons, and I've still got a fairly positive outlook on everything.

Sounds like you'd be right at home where I come from. I haven't been possessed, but...let's just say I might want to append a 'yet' to that statement. I like to think it's a good thing there are people like us around.

Can I ask what kind of work you do back home?

I probably wouldn't. Those things are all... new to me. And if I had the choice to run screaming away from them, I probably would. Since I can't, I've... learned to keep the screaming to a minimum.
