[ Truth be told, she has gotten the odd look for her hair, for her wolf (perhaps if she was being less than humble, her face). But she's never had anyone stop and linger over her dress in such a fashion. It's a dress, she would say if prompted. Of the ones I have seen in the past, this one is modest at best. Even though the more modern styles are available to her aboard the Tranquility, Alayne is loathe to break from what she is accustomed to and there is something of a comfort to be found in all those silver stays, all the lacing to her undercorset.

Her smile, polite and small upon her face, falters slightly as she turns to look at Lady, lifting a hand to scratch the beast behind the ear. Rather than growl, Lady gives a curious whimper.
