[ Guess who is in a terrible mood? ]

you're welcome. sweet dreams.

[ It's vague. It's supposed to be vague. Any of you sleeping nicely lately? This is a place of nightmares, of course. But are they suddenly gone? Suddenly vacuumed away like the work of a dream catcher? It's this guy. He's been feasting on them all.

( And gosh, some of you have problems. )

He can't be too specific, but you can say it makes his cranky heart feel a little better. This isn't PostSecret, but let him have this.
]

Jeremy Gilbert
[ Jeremy has thoughts. He has a head full of thoughts. There are guilty ones. There are thoughts he should feel guilty for but he doesn't. And there's everything else. He's taking everything in stride. He's making sure he's not hanging back, useless - herego lessons in combat with a sword... what? But, other then those, he hasn't had that much going on. So, again, he's living with his thoughts.

Today, he's abandoning those thoughts for the library. He was a pretty good student post-compulsion pre-everything went to hell that ever could. He likes to research. He just... doesn't know what he's looking for.

He knows he hasn't found it yet. He addresses the network. ]

[ when the picture turns on, Jeremy can be seen. behind him, shelves and tables. it's the library. although, you can't really call it a library because there aren't books. just information he can download to his phone. ]

Soap operas. The future is here, it's now and the future is soap operas. And music I don't even recognize. You'd think with years to perfect music...

[ not why he got on here ]

So, I figure people usually go on this thing and introduce themselves. Offer help. What they've been through, where they're from. I'm Jeremy Gilbert. And, what I wanna know is are there people out there who think this isn't so bad?

Don't get me wrong. Stuff here is creepy. And from what I've read back about? Dangerous. But, I've done dangerous. But I'm not planning on running down some dark forgotten corridor, finding whatever... killed that rock.

And, you're welcome and sweet dreams? Most random text ever. Creepy, for sure but not that creepy. Just in a slithery way. Like a, I want to take ten showers and never sleep, way. But, it won't mean I'm not gonna sleep.

[ he shakes his head. ]

Anyway, I have a point and, it's that I kind of don't hate it here. I got people back that I lost. And I have family on here. And a friend. And if I were back there...

[ well, he doesn't know if it would be worse or better. but, jenna and ric wouldn't be there so there's a blanket decision on worse. even if this place is ten times creepier then mystic falls. subject change is a go! ]

So, we can go anonymous on these things? We can just randomly text people? That means we can lock stuff. [ not that he wants to. but, learning how? he could get information from someone. in some plan that he doesn't have. he's just thinking up ways to actually be useful. ]

So, what is there to do if you want to help but you have a sister and an aunt who'll forbid you to do anything that quote, "might put you in danger" but still is helping?

MYSTIC FALLS 10% ENCRYPTED, SOMEONE TEACH HIM HOW-TO

[ and he'll lock one last section to those from Mystic Falls, he plays with his ring, turning it ]

Do you think my ring still works? Would space count as "supernatural?" I'm not saying I want to throw myself into the fight - when there is a fight [ except, he would, he'd jump at the chance ] -- Just wondering. Don't think the Gilbert men ever saw space threat as a thing.

[The feed opens to a dimly-lit chamber in the ship that, at best, looks suspiciously organic. The Wraith has propped up the comm camera so that he can move about his lab without inducing motion sickness, or perhaps his present state has left him with little energy for a more dynamic broadcast. He seems to be a bit less skeletal than he has in some of his previous network appearances, but even then his face is thin and worn. The corners of his mouth briefly flick upward in what might optimistically be a bitter smile, and his voice - though still rusty and quiet - is not quite so accusing as last time.]

I... [grudgingly] realize that I my last address to you came across as more incendiary than intended. One might argue that starvation can wreak havoc on the mind, but I hope that today shall mark an end to this bitter cycle of hunger and fleeting satiation.

[He steps closer and produces a vial of some amber-colored liquid from a rack of test tubes on one of the lab workbenches, which he holds in his off hand so that the camera is focused directly on it.]

This is the first stage of a gene therapy that will significantly ease the effects brought about by my feeding. The retrovirus was designed and tested by myself and others in the science department. It alters human DNA so that the body produces an antivenom upon contact with my feeding enzyme. [He briefly flashes his feeding hand at the camera, now dark with hunger, as a demonstration. The skin around his feeding slit has drawn back to expose a ring of small, sharp barbs, each one bristling with red-orange Wraith venom.] At present, we Wraith have an incredibly inefficient means of feeding ourselves. The process is wasteful - if we did not also strengthen your kind with adrenaline, the shock alone would kill in seconds. I should hardly need to say that this is not an optimal result for either Wraith or human, but it is the only option available to us in nature. The gene therapy will endow any who take it with the ability to minimize the damage caused by our feeding enzyme, which is a far more desirable outcome for both our species.

In streamlining this process by curbing the strength of our enzyme, we would no longer need to drain humans dry to feed ourselves. Likewise, no human save for the frailest would ever fall by our hand. This [he turns the vial in his off hand a bit, to keep it in focus] is meant to be a shield, and one which I give to any human who elects to take it.

[Protection from Wraith bites, at the cost of implicitly volunteering to be food. He'll let that point sink in as he cuts off the feed.]

[OOC: We can handwave the inoculation if you'd like to, or we can work something out in his IC Contact page. I also have an OOC tracking list up for easy reference.]

Hello, Tranquility. [ For once, Carolyn's background isn't the shuttle bay. It's medbay instead, though she's not a patient. Simon can occasionally be seen in the background, doing... doctor-things. ] I'm Carolyn Fry. On this ship, I work on the flight crew; back home I was the pilot and captain of another ship. I've got a few things I'd like to talk about today.

First is the flight crew. We're always looking for more members -- we're responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the shuttles as well as flying them. We've gotten more members over the last few months but we'd always like more. If you're interested, we just want to know a bit about your skills. If you don't have any experience with spacecraft or aircraft of any time, several of us work together to provide flight training. If you're interested, we have some sign-ups on the subnetwork as follows.

[ FLIGHT CREW SUBNETWORK PAGE ]

Second, I'm aware that many of the people on-board have never been in space before. If this applies to you or you're looking for a better understanding of this ship specifically, I'll be holding one of our semi-monthly [ jumply? ] space training courses in two hours. This jump's focus will be on medical situations and health thanks to Doctor Simon Tam, and as a result, we'll be meeting in the medbay. Dr. Tam will be reviewing space-specific medical concerns as well as general medical concerns, teaching people who to use the automated medical machines, and several other topics.

In addition, I'll be covering what we know about the Tranquility specifically and what's happened here, as well as what we know about this universe. There's a lot of information out there and while the anonymous information page is quite helpful, sometimes it's easier to hear about it from someone else. I haven't been here for all of it but I'll do my best to answer any questions, as will Dr. Tam -- and anyone else is welcome to offer insight as well. This is also a good chance to get to know everyone else stuck here, if that's your thing.

For those of you who've missed any prior sessions and are interested, please see the following subnetwork page. [ SPACE TRAINING SUBNETWORK PAGE ] If you have any suggestions on making these sessions more accessible or anything you'd like to see covered, please let me know.

[ Pausing to run a hand through her hair, there's a barely audible "I'm starting to sound like Kirk" before she continues. Time to fix that. ]

This is new to all of us, even those of us who've been in space before. If you've got sense, there's no reason not to use the resources on board in order to be better prepared to survive. We may have bars and beds but this isn't a pleasure cruise. People have died and if you don't take care of yourself and exercise some caution [ and not break into the shuttle bay, Zaeed ] then it could be you next.

I'll hopefully see all of you in medical in two hours. Try not to disturb anyone working in there.

((ooc: Free-for-all log is here.))

[ There is a naked, brightly glowing blue man standing a short distance away from where his comm device is holding steady in the air. He’s hardly bothered by the fact that he’s naked... nor does he look as if he’s bothered by, well, much of anything. ]

It has become clear to me that, while I am entirely capable of moving my own matter both through time and space, I have been moved into a plane that has hindered this ability. I have found that i’m unable to manipulate my own particles to the extent that I have become accustomed to. It seems that this is not true in all instances, however. [ His tone indicates a shrug might go here, but he doesn’t move an inch. ] I was not able to foresee this event, likely a cause of whatever is altering my intrinsic field.

[ Jon almost sighs, almost looks dejected, but mostly looks nothing too terribly different. ]

While I am aware that this is possible, I have yet to understand exactly how it’s occurring. Once I have, however, I intend to stop it. I have begun research in the science department for this reason only. [ Still as blase as ever. ]

I am curious, however, as to how this plane affects the atoms of others. It can only serve to further advance my own research if I understand how other particles have proven to react in such a place. [ He tips his head slightly, curiously, and then proceeds to wait for his answers. ]

I require an escort to the gardens.

To visit the tree of the girl I love.

[ She hadn't visited Chase's tree. Not since the first time she had seen it in her service. Lucrezia had been eating one small meal a day, kept her fasting and her praying and her weeping.

It is time to rise. ]
