[the camera swings to straighten over the image of one Jim Kirk, but this time he isn't alone. at his right shoulder, and just slightly behind him, is Spock. it's the first time they've addressed the network as a pair. that, if nothing else, should cue some people in that this is srs bsns.]

Welcome aboard, and welcome back, to the Tranquility. I'm Jim Kirk and this is [he cuts himself off before my first officer leaves his mouth.] Mr. Spock. We're two fellow passengers who happened to be lucky enough to come aboard during the first wave. [something in his expression makes it obvious that he doesn't think they were really all that lucky; it's probably the wry twist on his mouth.]

First and foremost... )

Patrick "Kitten" Braden
[ The feed clicks on--Tranquility is graced with the very confused blue eyes of one Kitten, Heather Mason in the background looking bemused. ] --and now everyone can see me? [ If her face is anything to go by, she's certainly apprehensive about the whole thing. ]

and hear you. You, uh - you don't need to hold that down, by the way. Just press it again when you're done.

Well pardon me for being from the seventies, darling. Now, I--Oh, can they hear me, too?

[cue giggles.]Can they hear you sassing me? Yes. Give 'em hell.

[ Kitten shoots Heather a look, though if the small smile is anything to go by it's a playful glare. She shakes her head and then returns her attention to the device: ] Now: it has recently come to my attention due to forced kidnapping that a lot of us are on this big old ship in space that's headed for somewhere that's certainly not Earth. As amusing as that is in a science-fiction programme sort of way, I'd like to inquire as to what happens while we're away. I have things to do and places to go, and It would be absolutely dreadful if my official excuse for missing out on life was 'alien abduction.' Dreadful, just dreadful. [ A quick glance over at the other girl: ] I think that's that... Did you want to say anything, dear?

Volunteer to be the act that follows saint Kitten? I don't think so. Oh, except - [she leans forward and offers a wave] Hey, newbies. Welcome aboard. Just so you know: there's booze.

[ To illustrate the point, Kitten holds up a bottle, modeling it for the screen. She lowers it, and then: ] So I turn it off by pressing...What?

[a hand looms in the foreground. Some of you may be questioning whether this is the right person to be giving instructions.] That one right there, same as turning it on. easy, right?

I don't think it-- [ But the feed clicks off. Not bad, for a first attempt, but Kitten's probably going to stick with audio. ]

[OOC:This colour is Kitten and this is Heather! Feel free to reply to either~ ]

✖ AGENT WASHINGTON.
12 March 2012 @ 04:41 pm
[ No video, here -- really, despite the obvious setbacks to this place, Wash has to say he prefers its communication devices to the seals. At least he's not hearing voices in his head anymore. (Aside from the normal ones, that is.) ]

So I'm wondering.

[ He's looked through the network, but for some reason, he can't seem to find an answer to what he thinks is a rather simple question. ]

Every few weeks, the ship makes a jump, and we go heading off somewhere else, right? Just making our way through this system.

The question is: why? Where exactly are we going? It's not like the ship's just driving itself.

[ ...At least, he hopes not. That business with the corridors was bad enough. ]

Anyone out there got an answer?

chell
[the camera blips on and HELLO WORLD IT'S CHELL'S FACE and what is presumably her room. though it's pretty dark so you can't see much.

...except that her nose looks a little crooked and bruised. she squints tired eyes at the communicator for a second, and there's text accompanying the video feed. someone doesn't know the video is on!
]

hello.

i was told there was a doctor.

[she could totally just go to the medical bay with ease but she wants to get to know whoever this doctor is (if he even exists) before she lets him touch her. paranoia and whatnot. she seems to consider something for a second as there's a thoughtful pause and a biting of the lower lip]

and welcome newcomers.

this place has skeletons.

[Chell that was a horrible welcome.]
