[ Good evening Tranquility. Have one (1) god of mischief rather normal looking guy, a passenger against his will just like the rest of you, popping up on your network feed. For all the hype going on aboard the ship, he appears calm and unbelievably casual. Even amused if that slight hook to the corner of his lips is to be believed, if it's not just a trick of the light—or shadow, as the case may be. He's sitting in a corridor seemingly alone, also lost though you wouldn't know it. As far as anyone can tell he's just hanging out.
He begins, ]
Having been aboard this ship for [ how should he put it ] at least one "jump" cycle now, I've had the pleasure of watching and getting to know an array of...fascinating individuals. Everyone seems so bright, curious, competent, with unyielding determination and strength of character—and yet...
[ A pause. Seemingly thoughtful, his casual expression taking on a hint of concern. But it's mostly for dramatic effect. ]
Now that we seem to be facing some difficult times, what with people losing themselves in the corridors and falling victim to random attacks......only certain of you are rising to the occasion. [ He leans forward slightly. ] My question is, why?
[ Why only certain of you? Why person x and not person y? Is there something wrong with the rest of you that you can't get yourselves together enough to act??? Or are those who've appointed themselves team leaders just not giving anybody else a chance to shine?
....These are the questions that seem to ring in the silence that reigns for a moment. But before anyone can ponder the answers, he continues, ]
Furthermore, are the ones who have taken these positions of leadership upon themselves really the most qualified for the job?
[ Considering the failed rescue attempts for the people lost in the corridors. Not to mention they're no closer to finding a way out of this place than they seemed to be almost (or over?) a month ago. Food for thought, my friends. ]
Well. [ He gives a light shrug, tipping his head back against the wall, and that casual look slips back onto his face. If you catch a mischievous gleam in his eyes, or sense something sly in the curve of his smile, you're probably imagining it :) ] Perhaps only time will tell.
If we all live long enough to see the end.
