I'll confess: I'm not altogether convinced that "Smiley" is indeed an enemy.

Indeed. S/he directed us to where to locate a cure. This location was full of hazards, without a doubt, so I find it difficult to believe that "Smiley" has much regard for our individual safety, yet that hardly bespeaks hostility. Moreover, prior to that, it had communicated with people on the network, but it had never expressed outright hostility.

Mayhaps I speak from a mind muddles with warfare, but I daresay that enemies hail from wide distances and as such carry many motives not all easy to understand at first.

I have looked in to these transcribings. Nor I think of he aggressive in motion; nor I think of he well with intent.

Perhaps, then, we differ in perspective. As a prosecutor, I require proof of guilt - though do not mistake me; once that proof has been given, I do not offer mercy.

I find it interesting, though, that the consensus truly is that s/he is malicious. I think it most likely speaks to the egos of those on that list.

I would say, it is the mask and games that make them weary. Dare I speak that such situations as thus are not common for those brought here. So too are they all wide in temperaments. Might they be scared, misplaced, and confused. Defenses run high, I feel, but not all know how to think through them.

Those who are easily spooked, then, should not try to place themselves in positions of authority.

One that, regrettably, predates me. We're now unofficially represented by a cadre of individuals who seem to have nominated themselves not out of altruism, but purely because the thought of kowtowing flattered them most prettily.

There's certainly no debating that. But we have no time for it here, nor any luxury.

I think not that cooperation would be unanimous. What then shall we do? Such trials I have observed over and time again.

There are plenty of minds working to solve the questions all wrought upon us, but they are not keen in sharing I hear.

Convince them to cooperate, naturally. But I've no idea how to do that.

In my experience, and perhaps it too cynical, but men will band together under great tragedy. And only under great tragedy will they succeed with brilliance.

I think that might be too cynical. There are any number of times throughout history when people have been united by nothing more than common goals, and they have succeeded.

Naturally, by laying out logically and systematically the necessity of cooperation. Reason is how we will unite them.

I disagree. There are some who are indeed irrational, yes; the world, after all, is plagued with criminals and the like. But they are comparatively few and far between. No matter how frustrating those in charge here might be, they're not criminal or irrational in mindset.

I had not spoken thus. I do speak of the maladjusted. Although I cannot say with certainty the presence of them here, I feel that perhaps sighting them is not simple.

Perhaps. But you've listened to the people here, I presume, and how concerned they are with what other people think of them. They bristle at the mere implication that they might do wrong. Anyone caught with such a list would be decried at once as a villainous monster.

I have, and the sentiment is understandable but such information if vital. If someone is clearly a hostile, it should be known.

I suppose so. And I see no harm in keeping lists of proven criminals.
