[ Mason has spent a very, very, very long time debating whether or not he really wants to do this (short answer: he doesn't). He's spent pretty much every day since the attack beating himself up for it and trying to talk himself into actually doing this because it's pretty much the exact opposite of how he's lived his life up until now. He also wants to make all of this right, even if it's been a month or so since the attack. Unfortunately, he's pretty sure there's no way to do that, and not speaking up only to be found out later will do him more harm than good.

If it were just him, Mason probably wouldn't speak up. He'd find more chains, find an even emptier place to tie himself up, drink more of his supply of Wolfsbane until he felt like his stomach was literally tearing in two instead of just trying to tear itself in two. But Tyler's here now and, on top of that, Mason's actually somewhat worried that people will blame Remus. Eventually, anyways, if they haven't started yet.

So when the feed comes on, Mason's sitting in his room, looking more pensive than anything. He's not entirely sure how to say this, not without it starting some kind of commotion, but he's hoping everyone will be focused enough on other things that they won't think too much of this. Or, at the very least, that they won't freak out as much considering Remus confessed to being a werewolf and Jenna confessed to being a vampire. He's not holding his breath, though. ]

I should've said this a hell of a lot sooner, I know, but I figured it'd be better now than never. [ He runs a hand over his mouth before continuing. Just say it. ] I'm a werewolf. [ Can you all see how weird it is for him to actually be saying this? The only person he's ever confessed to is Tyler (Katherine doesn't count since she was there when he triggered the curse, nor does his pack from back home since they knew it without even asking him) so actually saying it out loud when so many people can hear him... ] Usually, when I change, I'm able to chain myself up somewhere. I've been doing it for years now to make sure that no one gets hurt, which whatever brought us here seems to know because they decided to give me my supplies from back home when I first got here.

The reason I do it is because I have no control over what I do or who I do it to when I'm changed. Hell, I can barely even understand English. [ Also not entirely true: if it comes down to it, Mason will do whatever he possibly can to stay alive. Generally, though, he fights vampires, not humans. ] If I had any sort of control, things would be a lot different. [ Read: he never would've attacked Tommy. ] Sometimes, though, I don't have enough time and I end up getting loose, which is what happened last month. [ He's not going to explain why he didn't have enough time up here because admitting to not knowing his cycles well enough makes him too vulnerable. ] None of what happened was intentional and whether you want to believe me or not, I never wanted to hurt anyone and I still don't. I'd even say I wish I could take it back but since that's impossible, wishing for it seems pretty pointless. [ The wolf did but he - Mason Lockwood, the human - didn't want to. Not without a reason. ]

[ He pauses for a moment, eyes drifting away from the comm. If he's being honest, Mason feels like he's dreaming all of this, like it's not really happening. Then he lets out a breath he didn't realized he'd been holding and glances towards the comm again. ] From here on out, I'll be doing anything and everything else I can think of to keep any possible attacks from happening again, I just figured I'd let everyone know that the monster on board - at least this one - is only a monster one night a month. [ That part is supposed to be humorous, though he doesn't really expect it to be. So he ends the feed pretty quickly after he says that. ]

[ Revelations. Dean's really starting to hate them. He's not actually going to say anything (especially nothing quite as bad as he said to Jenna), but make no mistake; Mason just made it on to Dean's watchlist. ]

[ Mason considers making this a private feed, even spends a few moments staring at the button on his comm, but then he decides against it. There's no sense hiding this conversation; anyone with a brain could make the connection between Tommy's broadcast from medbay to this confession here. ]

Yeah, actually, I did. [ But god does he wish he didn't have to. ] Besides, everyone else was doing it; what's the point in being the only one keeping it a secret here? [ Also a lie. He knows plenty of people that haven't confessed to being more. ]

Skinchanger? [ He's pretty sure he said werewolf, buddy. The almost amused look fades at that second question and even though he desperately wants to deny it, he nods. ] Not exactly my proudest moment.

[It's courage Asato doesn't have. He's been hiding, and here Mason is, coming out and telling everyone what happened, why it happened, and what he intends to do about it. He doesn't even need to know what a "werewolf" is to understand the sentiment behind this message.]

[ Mason actually doesn't feel very brave, but part of that might be because most of the people here don't know how to actually hurt him. Permanently, anyways. But he doesn't really comment either way on the compliment, he just lets it slide. ]

Nice to know someone's backing me on this. [ He knows there will be others - he's already got Jenna, Tyler and Remus behind him, after all - but he really is worried about all those people he doesn't know. And it's not so much that he's worried about making friends, he's just worried this is going to start some kind of witch hunt or something.

Part of him wants to avoid that question - admitting to Wolfsbane having an effect on him is showing a weakness - but he nods. ] Yeah. I don't really know how it works, but it helps keep me calmer. [ There. That's... a decent compromise. ]

Yeah, a werewolf. [ He's ignoring that bit about it being admirable, too, because he really didn't do this so people would think he was brave or anything. He did this to save his hide as well as his nephews. And, thus, the other people on the ship in case something were to happen. ] I guess, yeah, but it's just as dangerous to keep it secret. [ Or so he keeps telling himself. ]

Why has the one who has given you the powers not given you the ability to control it?

[ :| ] Say it with me: werewolf. [ If people are going to be referring to him as what he is instead of his name - which he has a feeling these people just might do - they may as well get the name of that right. jfc. ]

[ except he's not just sayin' because a werewolf almost killed him recently because of this lockwood. he's not interested in getting himself or anyone else he cares about knows bitten because Mason can't keep himself in check. ]

[ Don't mistake that slight smirk on Mason's face as amusement, Damon, because he's anything but. Even if the idea of them being trapped on a spaceship together is mildly entertaining. Payback's a bitch, after all. ]

[ oh, mason. caroline thinks he's pretty brave for doing this, or he thinks the best of people on board of this ship, which could make this entire confession one big problem for him. she hopes people are responding in a positive way, even though she's not his biggest fan on this ship, she doesn't want him to be crucified like she's been by his own kind and by her own blood. she isn't quite sure how to talk to him, but he's tyler's only family here, so she has to try. ]

[ oh man, this is awkward. the last few memories she has of mason is her kicking him on the old lockwood property. it was nothing personal, honest. she isn't quite sure what tyler has told him, so she figures she'll just dive right in and hand out her resume. ] I helped Tyler when he turned.

Is he going to turn with you? [ how does this place work?

she's afraid of being bitten again, but her desire to help trumps desire to flee. mason's from home, he's got a nephew with a heart of gold, and even though they're not exactly friends, the breaking of one's bones isn't pretty. ]

[ Mason was wondering if she was going to show her face or not. To him, anyways, since he heard her over the network on Tyler's post before she switched the feed over to private. And while he's not exactly jumping up and down at the sight of her, he's a little less pissed off about her existence than Damon's. ]

You helped him. [ Kind of a question, mostly just a repeat of what she said so he can try to believe it. It was one thing for Katherine to help him - she claimed to love him but was apparently just using him and either way, it's a better excuse than just feeling generous - but it's a whole other thing for Caroline to help Tyler. ] Why?

[ His lips quirk slightly at the corners. ] You wanna know so badly, you'll have to ask him. [ He's got absolutely no reason to walk Caroline through this, even if she did help Tyler back home. Mason's here now, so in his mind Tyler won't need her anymore. Or, at the very least, won't need her as much. ] I already filled him in.
